Welcome aboard the Christchurch Tram! Travel on our newly extended track & enjoy this unique and historic way to view the inner city. Drivers provide a live and entertaining commentary. A full circuit takes 50 minutes, includes 18 stops and there are up to four Trams operating. Trams run approximately every 15 minutes (season dependent) and your ticket lasts all day as a hop on and off pass.

Once booked, please collect your tickets with your booking reference number from the booking office located in Cathedral Junction 109 Worcester St.

Please note our attractions do get very busy sometimes, especially if a cruise ship is in port and there may be a wait time at the Tram entry due to increased demand

Children must be accompanied by an adult

Seats are cozy and secure, but please note outside seats are not weatherproof

Children must be accompanied on the trams at all times by a paying adult. For safety reasons, we allow one adult to supervise up to three children/infants aged 15 years and under

Folded prams can be only be accommodated on particular trams

Please advise us in advance if you need wheelchair assistance

Tickets to be collected from the booking office located in Cathedral Junction 109 Worcester St

There may be a wait time at the Tram entry due to increased demand

Particular trams are wheelchair accessible and people with mobility issues may struggle with the height of the trams

There is a wheelchair hoist available from Stop 1 in Cathedral Junction with a weight limit of 220kg. Please note that the hoist is not accessible to electric wheelchairs

Great experience 18 different stop ,all around Christchurch .Basically going round in abig circle .40 NZ dollar per adult .Lasts for the day ,you can just keep hopping on & off.Advise staying on at first to assess ,whats available . Great for going for lunch ,then botanicsl gardens ,museums . Staff very informative & helpful ,can pay on tram ,so no need to reserve .if busy can wait for next tram ,all different ,apptox 10mins a part at most .Well worth the experience.

Highly recommend this tram. Interesting commentary, great way to see the CBD! Hop on and off as much as you wish. Trams run every 15 minutes. We had no problem getting the tram, no wait! Visit all the top spots, great way to get around without a car! It is a bit expensive but worth it in my opinion!

I liked having a very different trolley car every time I got back on. Being able to follow on the paper map made it easier to decide which stops to hop off at

Great way to see the city of Christchurch. I love the live commentary rather than recorded. Learn a lot about the history of Christchurch !

The whole route round takes about 50mins if you stay on and get off where you started. Of you are just going to do that, it's a bit over priced. The commentary vary's depending on the driver bug in the main quite good. You can use the tickets at anytime during the day, so if you're using the service to explore different parts then it is useful but the city is very walkable so you can wander around and see all the good bits anyway.

We really enjoyed our ride on the Christchurch tram. A great way to see the city. Really interesting commentary by the drivers. Although the queue was quite long, it moved up quite quickly.
Excellent value to see large part of the city.

This is a great way to get around the city if you don’t want to walk. Hopping on and off introduces you to different guides who point out slightly different things. We went round at least twice for this very reason, sitting on different sides of the trams.

This a great way to see the City centre of CC. The information that is given is enjoyable.... we jumped on at the interchange( bus station ) stop... i was concerned that we would needs to start at the begining to get tickets..but we showed our tickets and got our passes. We went for a drive around and then jumped off..

The all day pass on the Historic hop-on hop-off tram was worth doing. The commentary helped give you a sense of the city and the rebuilding that is still going on. We utilised the gondola shuttle from stop #2. Then on our return continued connecting to the city. Definitely worth the experience.
