Welcome aboard the Christchurch Tram! Travel on our newly extended track & enjoy this unique and historic way to view the inner city. Drivers provide a live and entertaining commentary. A full circuit takes 50 minutes, includes 18 stops and there are up to four Trams operating. Trams run approximately every 15 minutes (season dependent) and your ticket lasts all day as a hop on and off pass.

Once booked, please collect your tickets with your booking reference number from the booking office located in Cathedral Junction 109 Worcester St.

Please note our attractions do get very busy sometimes, especially if a cruise ship is in port and there may be a wait time at the Tram entry due to increased demand

Suitable for all physical fitness levels

Children must be accompanied by an adult

Seats are cozy and secure, but please note outside seats are not weatherproof

Children must be accompanied on the trams at all times by a paying adult. For safety reasons, we allow one adult to supervise up to three children/infants aged 15 years and under

Folded prams can be only be accommodated on particular trams

Please advise us in advance if you need wheelchair assistance

Tickets to be collected from the booking office located in Cathedral Junction 109 Worcester St

There may be a wait time at the Tram entry due to increased demand

Particular trams are wheelchair accessible and people with mobility issues may struggle with the height of the trams

There is a wheelchair hoist available from Stop 1 in Cathedral Junction with a weight limit of 220kg. Please note that the hoist is not accessible to electric wheelchairs

Spent first full day in Christchurch on the Trams. Lots of different trams. Great way to see local city area of Christchurch and get your bearings. Did full 4km loop first then lots of hop on/off. Drivers do the commentary (no plug in ear stuff) which was great. So many versions of history, earthquakes, statues, buildings etc. Highly recommend it

The team driver was very informative. The lady at the ticket stop was extremely helpful and looked out for us so we didn’t miss our punting ride.

Took a tour around the city on the hop-on hop-off heritage tram. Plenty of city info and history told by our driver with a number of stops to get on and off from historical sites to museums etc. Worth staying in for a full circuit first to help get your Christchurch bearings before hopping off to visit places. Love an old tram.

We loved Christchurch and the hop on and off bus made it very easy to get around and seeing all the landmarks. Pre-Purchasing tickets was very easy.

A cheap and fun way to see Christchurch. The entire circuit takes about 50 minutes, but there are plenty of place to get on and off. Also you can get a running commentary from the driver. The trams are lovely - there are at least three- each different from the last.

A must do, very interesting and great way to see the city for future visits and exploring, trams go everyn20 odd minutes so terrific way to see things and novel as compared to a hop on hop off bus

We did this trip on a Sunday, it was a nice say so plenty of people out and about. At no time was the tram to full to jump onto. We ended up looking at places we'd never been to, just observed before. The commentary was great, learning a bit more about the city we used to life in. It was a great way to get around, definetly reccomend.
