You will depart at 10am from Colmar and visit the fortification of Neuf-Brisach, the Christmas market during the day in Freiburg and the Christmas market of Basel at night. The cities are each typically and differently decorated for Christmas. You'll fall instantly in love with their charm. Particularly during the evening where the true Christmas atmosphere comes to life thanks to the beautiful illuminations. You have time to explore at your one pace the three cities embedded with Christmas and history. Your driver will be at your service and will help you to find and discover more about the cities. First stop, Neuf-Brisach in France, including the fortification visit.

As advertised, we drove to three markets starting in Freiburg, Basel and Egesheim. The group was split into two vans, so while Didier was our main contact, we had Julia and Gael with us. While they didn't speak fluent English, one would appreciate how they hard they tried to communicate and share bits and pieces of information about the places we passed through. Once at the markets, Didier took the lead in explaining and giving a bit of background about each of the markets we visited. Overall, it was a good excursion. However, I think Basel wasn't that special or different from the others. In fact, most of the kiosks only took cash and none of us had Swiss francs. Freiburg was good; Egesheim was the best but we stayed there the shortest. Perhaps, the tour organizers consider replacing Basel with some place more interesting and allocate more time in Egesheim.

This tour was a fun way to visit three countries in one day. Travel time takes a bit between the locations, which doesn’t leave that long at each stop.

Didier was a terrific host, he provided us with some good history of each town we visited. He made it so easy to get to each of the Christmas markets. Highly recommend this tour, so fun visiting all three countries.
