During this 3-hour, guided, walking tour of La Paz, learn the fascinating culture behind this Bolivian city in the sky, and hear the myths, history, and legends behind the buildings and streets. We will start at the San Fransisco Church, visit the witches market of La Paz, San Pedro square and the infamous jail (from the outside)Then you will take various cable car lines and learn about the city from the sky. You will also visit the witches market of El Alto, very different from the first one you will see in La Paz, and on thursdays and sundays a bit of the giant flea market up there. Afterwards you will head back down to La Paz to visit our beautiful Jaen street and then you will go to the main square to see the cathedral and all the government buildings, you will walk through open air markets and various shops and finish back in San Francisco church.

The guide was nice and really sweet, and trying her best but she didn't give us much information - just walked us around different areas. Also asked for tips at the end which was weird.

A mix of urban tour, politics, socio-economics of the city, as we traversed above the various neighbourhoods, in what's now the largest teleferico system in the world. It gave us a glimpse of how connectivity plays a great role in bridging the wealth gap. To be able to see the panorama of La Paz surrounded by the snow capped guardian mountains, is an added perk. Please bring layers as it does get windy in some of the stations at a higher altitude. The guides were with us in the cars on all rides

We went on this tour with Luis, and absolutely loved it. You get a very good taste of the city, by looking from a perspective. Luis is very professional, we didn't notice how time flew even though we were tired. Keep doing what you are doing, you are the best!

Very informative and extensive tour for three hours. We discussed a lot of history and covered a lot of landmarks. It was very efficient and engaging.

We really enjoyed our walking tour experience. Luis was a great guide, very enthusiastic and he was happy to answer people's questions. The tour who was very informative and a great way to see the city. The cable car ride was great, amazing views. Would highly recommend this as a walking tour.

Take 10 bolivianos in cash for the cable car ticket, plus tip for the guide. The meeting point is in Prado (in front of the main gate of San Francisco). There is jarring information in Viator that if guided in the direction will end up next to San Francisco, not in front. Outside of this, it is an excellent entrance tour to get to know the interesting points of La Paz and besides not getting lost in the cable cars.

Luis was an excellent guide and gave us lots of insights into Bolivia’s history, culture and politics. It was not easy to climb some of the uphill streets but that’s the nature of La Paz.
