Arad was once in the middle of the Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy. Germans, Hungarians, Romanians, Serbs, and Jews have lived here peacefully over the centuries and built together a culture hard to imagine anywhere else!
We start from the current city hall and will go back in time to the beginning of the 20th century. Our route takes us over the Cultural Palace, home of the local philharmonics and built in several architectural styles. On the way, we will explore the multiculturality of the city through the stories of those who inhabited it. We will enter the biggest Catholic church in the town, a miniature of Saint Peter's Basilica from the Vatican, and learn about heroes undressed by their uniforms in the Romanian-Hungarian Reconciliation Park! Finally, we will finish the tour in the former main square of Arad, the current Avram Iancu Square, which has been the city's heart for almost two centuries. By the end of the tour, you will have a true understanding of this region.
