Our mangrove glass bottom kayak & snorkel tour begins at the lovely beach from Lac Cai. The Bonaire Mangrove reserve is located in Lac Bay National Park. Visitors can only enter the mangroves in the company of an experienced nature guide. Your stable, glass bottom sit-on-top kayak is equipped with a comfortable backrest seat, a waterproof bag for your personal belongings and, of course, paddles. Off you go, into the calm waters.
The glass bottom kayak provides an ideal mode of transport in this beautiful and tranquil environment, as you manoeuvre with ease through the mangrove shallows and tunnels.
Gliding by four different species of mangrove trees in crystal-clear waters, paddling past bird habitats and fish spawning areas, you'll learn of the relationship between the plants and the animals. The snorkel location offers a great variety of marine life and is considered by many a must-do while visiting Bonaire!

5.00My wife and I were in Bonaire celebrating our 25th anniversary. Our guide was encouraging & informative. We enjoyed every minute. It was a leisurely journey through an incredible ecosystem. Snorkeling gear provided was good quality. As cool as the clear bottom kayak sounds, we really couldn’t see much that way. It is a tandem kayak- there can be a little learning curve to coordinate paddling if you’re used to solo. Sufficient leg room was a bit of an issue for our short wife-tall husband duo. Kayak entries/exits and traversing were very doable, even for larger & non-athletic guests. We learned so much. The amount of preservation work and the dedication of a remarkable group of volunteers are making definitive progress in the rehabilitation & future protection of this key ecological reserve. We saw lots of juvenile marine & brackish fish species, 2 species of jellies, pufferfish, cool mangrove tunnels. Very good value for cost. Definitely bring your underwater camera! The stroopwaffel & juice refresher at the end was most welcomed. The start/finish is at Lac Cai Bay and is an excellent place for swimming & snorkeling. Wish we realized that and brought our own snorkeling gear, still we stayed after and enjoyed a beautiful swim and an awesome, fairly close observation of 2 green sea turtles!

3.00The access route is actually only possible with pickup or off-road vehicle... Hardly possible with our KIA Picanto. Way is just potholes. And I asked especially if she could get there with a small car Trip through the mangroves was nice. But the Führer spoke very poor English. We weren't the only ones to complain... And snorkeling is uninteresting. There's nothing to see except some fish. Unfortunately, price-performance is not right at all on this tour.

Great kayak/snorkel tour with Summer

5.00A great tour, highly recommended. We were picked up by Summer at our hotel. During the half-hour drive she already told a lot about the island and nature. So excited, great. She was born and raised on this beautiful island and it was very noticeable. Arrival at the Lac lake a brief instruction and check of the Nature Fee. We were 16 people in total but Summer divided her attention so that everyone got the story right. In English and Spanish. Through the mangrove seen a lot to different fish, nature and crabs. Almost at the end of the kayak tour we entered an open space surrounded by mangrove. There we snorkelled and wow, that was so beautiful. So many fish together.

5.00We signed up for the kayak tour with pick up. Youri our guide communicated the pickup details ahead of time and arrived on time at the designated location. He spoke English well and had a humorous personality. He took us through different parts of the mangrove forest and gave us insight into the habitat. At the end we were able to snorkel through a mangrove tunnel with schools of fish. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Equipment including snorkels and dry bags were provided. It was topped off with a refreshing serving of juice and struppelwaffle! We went at a very leisurely pace so it’s a doable experience for almost anyone. I would highly recommend booking it. Hopefully you get Youri. He’s a character.

5.00We loved this experience! Our guide was friendly and informative throughout. Parts of the water were a bit challenging, and getting in and out of the kayak to snorkel wasn’t easy, but the mangroves were incredibly peaceful and calm—well worth it. We were visiting on a cruise, and it was very convenient to walk to the pick-up location. We also had plenty of time to return to the ship afterward. Highly recommend!

5.00Great experience kayaking the narrow canals through the mangrove forest on Bonaire. Its a good workout but definitely worth it. Especially observing the schools of fish hiding under the roots from only a foot away is amazing. So different from snorkeling on the regular beaches of Bonaire. Our guide was great and very knowledgeable. She was able to answer any question and provided us with all kinds of interesting facts about the mangroves and the wildlife living there.
