Alpamayo, catalogued as the most beautiful mountain in the world for its peculiar pyramidal aspect, won a photography contest in the world survey of scenic beauty held in Munich - Germany, in 1966. The Nevado Alpamayo with a height of 5,947 m belongs to the beautiful Cordillera Blanca of the Peruvian Andes and is part of the Nevado Santa Cruz massif, therefore it is the most attractive for professional climbers who want to climb it year after year. In spite of not being a 6000 like the mountains that surround it (Santa Cruz, Pucajirkas and Quitaraju), it is one of the most climbed during the season due to the spectacular photographs that are captured in the sunset from its high camp and during its ascent. Undoubtedly, it is a challenge that makes many people dream and sigh. The route that is climbed every season is called the Basque-French route, erroneously many climbers and guides know it as the French direct route. This route presents a Difficult difficulty level, it has between 450 to 500m of climbing, starting with 60º and reaching 85º degrees of inclination during the climb.

5.00We have just finished a private double expedition with Andeanraju, Tocllaraju and Alpamayo. The organization has been perfect, without any fissure. The team is extraordinary, from Alex (UIAGM certified guide), to Maduen (the chef – many big-name restaurants would like to have him at the front of the stove by now –), to the campers and porters (Juliño, Wilson and Edgar), and the muleteers (Roque and Richard). All of them, always with a smile on their faces. We achieve 100% success: Urus e Ushinca (to "enter into matter"), Tocllaraju and Alpamayo. And success, of course, was everyone's. Leading the logistics, the CEOs of Andeanraju, Pablo and Maite, charming and resolute, whom we already knew from another previous expedition. And the ones coming with them for next year! En resumen, 100% recomendable. I have no doubt that there will be other good agencies in Huaraz, but I attest that Andeanraju is extraordinary.

5.00Pablo, the owner of the agency, went out of his way to organise the acclimatisation trek and climb according to our wishes. He provided a very fit and professional team with an excellent cook. Also, they were very good company. Alex, our mountain guide, was extremely knowledgable and skilled. He knows every detail of Alpamayo which ensured a successful climb. We would choose Andean Raju Expeditions any time again.

5.00I dreamed for this year 2022 to climb the Alpamayo mountain in the Cordillera Blanca of Peru and the climb was an incredible and learning experience. The guides and porters were amazing and always friendly. The food was delicious and all dietary preferences were catered for. All the equipment was top notch, I used a new Mountain Hardwear 4 season tent only for me. Edgar and Pablo were excellents guides and were always there to help. the guides were very knowledgeable about climbing route to the top of mountain. I would definitely recommend using Andean Raju Expeditions for a safe climbing experience in Peru.

5.00I congratulate and thank infinitely the support, Service, technical and human quality of the guides, porters, cooks and muleteers of Andean Raju Expeditions, as they were key to the success of our expeditions to the Yanapacca and the Alpamayo. Likewise, the coordination and care of the details of Pablo, its CEO, was decisive to make all our Alpine experience in Peru efficient, successful and pleasant. 5.00With a quick approach and all excellent logistics, we made 3 camps, the last of them in the Alto del Alpamayo field, our cordada was the one that got the summit first with a variant without which it would not have been possible to reach it. Everything perfect, sure, I enjoyed every day, are 4 years in which with Andean Raju I get totally all the tops of the Cordillera Blanca: Alpamayo, Huascan, Ishinca, Chopicalqui, Yanapaccha... and five thousand others. Highly recommended.
