Join us in revealing the story of Cluj. We'll walk through the historical part of town, reading the architecture and animating it with the lives of people past and present. We shall move across the town chronologically, exploring how new layers were added on top of old ones. Visual material will be used to make everything clear since a picture is worth a thousand words. We'll also include a place with a view, to admire the beautiful cityscape.

Catedrala Sfantul Mihail
This Catholic cathedral is the second largest in Transylvania. It’s the most representative landmark of the city and it’s situated in the old town in the center of Cluj. The inside of the church is also designed in a Gothic style bringing you back to the 14th century. You can also admire beautiful medieval frescoes inside the cathedral.
Banffy Palace
A Gothic-style building, the palace belonged to the noble Banffy family and nowadays it hosts an art gallery inside the edifice’s walls. In time, the building had many functions: from a protocol residence, a nationally-known casino, an apartment building, establishment for industrial companies to a cinema.

5.00It was a wonderful experience. The guide, Robert, is very knowledgeable, kind and gave us so much information. He knows the history, architecture and spatial culture of the city. That's very good. The tour makes you understand a lot of the city and is also very useful to orient yourself in the following days.

5.00A very knowledgeable travel guide who knew a lot about the history. Speaks good English. The old town is not very big. So one and a half to two hours is more than enough

5.00Absolutely enchanted by the city tour of Cluj Napoca. The city tour was a captivating journey through time, revealing a tapestry of architectural wonders, vibrant culture, and rich history. Ascending the Fireman Tower, the city panorama unfolded like a living painting, the blend of Gothic, Baroque, and Renaissance architectures in sync with modern elements. Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about the city. A definite 5-star experience, highly recommended for everyone.

5.00Our, guide, Andrea, met us early at the agreed upon meeting point next to the statue in the square. She first sat us down and gave us a remarkable history of Cluj dating back to the year 200 AD to understand the evolution of the culture and heritage of the city. We then proceeded to walk all over the most important places with in depth history and stories about all of them. Andrea was so knowledgeable and fun to be with we hated to part with her at the end of the tour. We highly recommend Andrea to anyone visiting Cluj Napoca.

1.00I booked as did another party of 11 people for entrance to the Banffy Palace, National Museum & Botanical Gardens on 30 Sept 2019. The party of 11 had not received the information to meet in the Square, so the lovely guide & I hung around the Square for over an hour waiting for them to arrive. Everyone in the group thought we had booked for the Banffy Place tour, it turns out the Banffy Palace & Museums are not open on Mondays, however our tickets stated Monday 30 Sept & the attractions we were to see. The group of 11 left the tour after an hour. I emailed Viator the same day & yet to receive a response. This was an expensive tour & the tour guide was very nice & knowledgable, however, it is not what I paid for.

5.00Roxana was excellent, very knowledgeable and friendly. I really liked the children’s book she used to illustrate how Cluj looked throughout its history. I learned a lot and enjoyed walking around the city.

5.00I had done a shorter free tour of Cluj-Napoca and learned a lot, but the half day tour was well worth it. I got to explore new parts of Cluj-Napoca and learn even more of its history. My guide, Alexandru was full of interesting facts about the city and Romania...I was thoroughly impressed by him and the quality of the tour.
