Colon

Colón was founded in 1850 by the Panama Railroad Company, on the swampy island of Manzanillo, originally called Aspinwall by the company. Within the city of Colón, we have several sites such as the Casco Antiguo de Colón, or Cristóbal, the latter created by the French canal company. As well as public spaces such as Paseo Washington and Paseo Lesseps. Also, within this historic center, some buildings are declared monuments, such as the Episcopal Church, Cristo a Orillas del Mar, the Washington Hotel, and the Morgan Battery at Fort Lesseps. we will be visiting all these places listed above on this wonderful experience

Paseo Marino

It is a promenade that runs through part of the city of Colon and contains healthy recreation areas for children and adults, bicycle paths and even a plaza for people who like to practice "skating." From this privileged place you can see the ships waiting to enter the Panama Canal and those heading towards the enormous port of Manzanillo with merchandise from all over the world.

Rigo was excellent! He taught us a lot about the city from its history to its present. He answered our questions with patience and excitement, he helped us with our Spanish, and he introduced us to locals while we were there to get a very full and rounded experience. He was hilarious and kind and we really did learn plenty while there. Definitely recommend the tour and definitely recommend Rigo if you want someone personable and ready to treat you like family.

Juan and Mr. Miller (Millertime) were great!!! Both were very knowledgeable and super friendly! We had late lunch/early dinner at a fantastic restaurant in Colon City and it was delicious!!! This excursion was amazing!

Roderick, our tour guide, brought Colon to life for us. Carlos our round trip driver from Panama City made safety his priority with a timely pick up and drop off. The sites and story telling that Roderick shared made for a memorable tour. We also got to enjoy some tasty Afro Panamanian dishes at a local restaurant. All in all it was great bonding and learning with Roderick and the other tourists in our small group. Highly recommend this tour which is time well spent.

Our tour guide Riggo did an excellent job showing us his hometown of Colon, including the history of the different parts and how the province is in the process of growing. He really peaked our interest in coming back to Colon and I would strongly recommend others take this tour and do so with Riggo as he showed us his love for his town and the town people loved Riggo

Bus tour with friends..was a rainy day, still had tge opportunity to get put and about and see key historical areas. The guide was down to earth fun and very knowledgeable. Would absolutely recommend!! Had a great time!

Last month I had the pleasure to see Colon through the eyes of Roderick. The day started with me being picked up by Juan from my hotel in Panama City. We then rode through the countryside passing the Panama Canal to get to Colon. Roderick took me to the market to see the diversity of the people, fruits and treats that were available. It was eye-opening and reminded me of the markets in my home country. I was so happy that I was able to buy some fresh honey at a reasonable price. Roderick took me throughout the city teaching me about the history, the food, and the culture that makes up the richness of Colon. He educated me on how the Panama Canal brought people from all over the Caribbean to Panama. We went all around seeing key sites and I just kept on feeling like I was at home. We checked out the outdoor duty free mall, I did not purchase anything from the shops but I did purchase some amazing mango by the mall entry. It was such a great tour and you could feel the pride Roderick has for his city. We then stopped by an amazing lunch spot, Santizo Kitchen, and oh my goodness the red snapper was amazing. The owner was kind and welcoming. Roderick also made sure I was able to get a picture with a Diablo Rojo before I left the city. I would recommend everyone to go on this tour because it was eye-opening and refreshing to see another side of Panama
