A rare opportunity to see the ancient bond between man and bird. In a small group, you will interact with a variety of hawks, falcons and owls, learn their natural history and their differences, and see an unforgettable flying demonstration. The Beginners Experience culminates with a chance for you

to put on a glove and hold a trained falcon.

There is a licensed falconer who oversees and presents each experience. The birds engage only by their own will.

This hour and a half class provides the average person exposure to an ancient sport many know little about. By discussing several different types of birds–eagles, owls, hawks, and falcons–the student gains a new appreciation for the bird’s inherent abilities and the nature of predation. After discussing the birds, the hawks are flown free in the surrounding countryside. The hour lesson concludes with each student having an opportunity to put on a leather glove and hold our trained Saker Falcon.There is a licensed falconer who oversees and presents each experience. The birds engage by their own will.

I have loved several different falconry experiences with Deanna, so that shows you how much I love this outing.Deanna is terrific in educating people about birds of prey. I highly recommend this, especially for animal lovers.

This was a wonderful experience to see birds of prey up close. Luckily, the weather was very nice for the outdoor portion. The indoor classroom was nice and even though a small space, it was well kept. A little expensive, but probably due to its association to the Broadmoor name.

Would highly recommend the Falconry Experience at Broadmoor Outfitters. Deana the falconer was very knowledgeable and made the day one to remember. Will definitely return for the intermediate class

This was an experience I will never forget. It happens I was the lone student for the day. I learned so much and was fascinated with the birds and the instructors Deanna and Delaney. I will say I am afraid of birds but the experience was exciting and I was very comfortable. I suggest people do this at least once in their life. I will be doing it again for sure!

The Beginning Falconry Class was amazing. We learned so much about falcons, hawks, and owls and the instructor was outstanding. To be able to see the falcon actually in "action" in the wilderness was very cool... and being able to hold a falcon was the icing on the cake. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Colorado Springs.

Great experience for the whole family. We got to see the birds up close and even touch a few. The guide was welcoming and informative. Great experience for anyone 4 to 104.

The experience is very educational. Everyone involved is friendly and professional. They introduce you to several different birds, explain their differences & their individual hunting styles. They also assist you in getting pictures to document your visit. Deanna & Nicole are a great team & I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who loves birds or is looking for a unique experience during their stay in Colorado Springs. I may have to come back to take the advanced class!

The beginner/intermediate combo falconry class was our birthday present to ourselves and I am not sure how future birthdays will top this. We had an absolutely amazing experience with Roger, Gabe and the falcons and owls. We got more hands-on time than I expected and learned much more than I thought we would. I would highly recommend this experience if you're in Colorado Springs.
