The colosseum currently guarantees special access to the arena floor which is off limits to the general public. The arena area is where the gladiator fights took place and also gives you the closest view of the underground area possible
Please provide the full names of all travelers when booking. Failure to present a voucher with all travelers' full names at the ticket office prior to entry may result in denied entry to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.
Each traveler must present a valid passport or ID document that matches the name provided at the time of booking for successful entry to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.
Remember to bring a valid photo ID for each passenger

5.00My wife and I went with the personal guide and Colosseum floor options. While expensive, was well worth the cost from our perspective. Fabio — our guide — was incredibly knowledgeable and personable and took the time to tailor the tour for us based on our conversation. Highly recommend visiting the Colosseum during the low season. If you visit during the busy season, I think a more personalized experience with a private or semi-private tour is even more helpful.

5.00An absolutely excellent tour with a wonderful guide, Francesca. On the rainiest of days she made the experience remarkable. The weather could not have been worse but nothing made us want to stop the tour; it was fascinating. Francesca shared her knowledge with us over the three hour visit, bringing the ancient buildings and artefacts to life. We learnt so much about Rome - I only hope I remember it!

5.00We arranged for a day tour of highlights in Rome with Luca from Liv Tours. Starting with a walk through Foro Romano and up Palatine Hill, Luca explained a lot about the rich history behind these landmarks before leading us into the Coliseum for an hour long tour through all the levels. Luca is an archeologist who also does tours. His knowledge of history was deep and he was clearly passionate about every feature he showed us on the tour- answering every question from my wife and two daughters who are all history buffs! After the coliseum we grabbed a quick lunch at a restaurant in the jewish quarter- fried artichokes were memorable. We finished a tour with a trip to the Borghese museum where Luca further amazed us with his deep knowledge of all the sculptures and paintings, their significance to the periods they were made and the stories of the artists lives. Of all the tours we took on our trip to Italy- this was the most masterfully crafted thanks to Luca. Highly recommend Liv tours and Luca!

5.00Amazing trip - highly recommend! Our guide, Deborah, was a wealth of knowledge and was extremely engaging! No question was too much and she seemed to genuinely enjoy sharing. Strongly recommend doing this as a small group - was much better than following along with a large group wearing a headset. Is worth the extra expense for a more intimate experience. Be aware the tour involves a lot of walking and hills - exceeded 3.5 hours. Well worth it!
