Enjoy an Afro-Caribbean tour of the most authentic culinary stops in Columbus. We arrived in Colón and our first stop is breakfast in a cafeteria that has been feeding the community for more than 30 years: puff pastries, chorizos, traditional stews and more. Fort San Lorenzo: With a happy stomach we are heading down the coast to Fort San Lorenzo, a World Heritage Site. You will visit the museum and the coral ruins of this iconic fort. Street of the Bananas: We return to the urban center directly to the mythical Calle de los Plátanos, where the most famous fish of the Panamanian Caribbean is fried, filled with fresh herbs and a touch of “spicy chombo” that awakens the soul, accompanied by slices of green banana. Eating it with your hands is part of the experience! We continue with dessert: a colonic scraping. Make no mistake: this is not the hail of the capital. Columbus is served with thick, indigenous syrups. We're going to Fourth Street for the famous octopus patty in coconut sauce. Crispy and creamy corn filling, perfect contrast! We continue with the iconic cupcakes and plantintás that carry meat seasoned with spices, ripe banana with cinnamon and aromas.
