I did both the free city walking tour (with Luka) as well as the communism and war tour (with Vid) with this company. The free walking tour was a great way to get some general knowledge and history of Zagreb, while the Communism and War tour delved deeper into Croatia's war and political history. Both guides provided information in a fun, unbiased which helped to understand such a complex history.

This was a very compelling and powerful tour. The highlight of our time in Zagreb! Vid is very knowledgeable and engaging, and more importantly, his passion for the topic is deep and profound. I found myself wishing that everyone I knew could learn this story of Croatia from someone who could make it so interesting and relevant to our times. We enjoyed his personal stories, the history lesson, and the dry sense of humor he shared liberally throughout the tour. Highly, highly recommend.

As a Canadian with Croatian roots, I have heard stories all my life in bits and pieces about the ‘homeland’. Today, under the outstanding story telling and historical references, it all made sense to me. This was among the best guided tours I have experienced and I learned more than I ever expected I would. Ivana brings such passion for and pride in ‘her Croatia’ and my family of 4 felt closer to our ancestors today because of her. Anyone would enjoy this excursion but if you have Croatian heritage and live abroad - this is the among the highlights of a visit to Zagreb. Highly recommended.

If you're looking for deeper understanding on Croatia's complex history this tour will certainly give you that. Kristina was fantastic. In 2.5 hours she managed to provide an in depth look into the topic, keeping things interesting, injecting humour at times, and sharing personal experiences which brought everything to life. I'd highly recommend this tour if you have any interest on the topic as it's a real eye opener.

Wow. That was a great tour. I am not going to lie, it weight heavy on me when we ended the tour. The guide, Kristina (Kika), took us deep in the communist past as well as the independence wars of the Balkan countries, especially Croatia, literally (the last part took us into a bomb shelter where we got the faintest idea of how it must have been 30 years ago) and personally (she shared her own experiences with us from that time). It felt real and authentic. Scary and still hopeful. After the tour it took me a while to decompress. And I think this is what made it so unique, the ambivalence between „wow, they made it, they got their freedom“ and „did they really make it, did anybody win anything here“. It was insanely good. And it will occupy my mind surely for a long time. Thank you so much. And as for Kika, what an amazing, smart tour guide. Funny as well as witty, and as I experienced many Croatians, or even people on the Balkans, hearty but pragmatic. I would definetly not mind learning more from her. Keep up the great work. And all of you who are not afraid of an ambivalent view on the world, an absolute must experience when in Zagreb!
