5.00If you are looking for a specially curated tour on communism and its various aspects on the economy and country, look no further! The Communism Investigation tour by Marius (Discover Romania Tours) is just the perfect answer to that. Marius was so knowledgeable and patiently explained all the nuances, it really takes you back decades into the Communist years of Romania. He doesn’t just share about the era, but also sets the scene by explaining the deep history leading into the communist years. As I did my tour on a Monday, which is the official weekly day off for a few museums, he ensured I got something else in return - visit to the Palace of Parliament, where I witnessed the grandeur of it all - got my chance to witness the parliament/senate arch hall - my first ever such experience. Highly recommended!!

5.00The tour was thoughtfully structured like a real investigation, complete with a Personal Investigation Dossier with insights at each historical sites we visited. We explored key locations tied to Romania’s communist era and the 1989 revolution, including the option to visit the infamous Spring Palace, Nicolae Ceaușescu’s former residence.

5.00A great tour you can't skip. Guide Marius really knows how to tell all about the most special places of the city. Not only from his general knowledge but also because of his personal interests. Perfect knowledge of the English language and a good sense of humour.

5.00We had a great day with Comrade Marius. He picked us up from our hotel and commenced our investigation which included several stops and visits plus the tours of the Spring Palace and The People’s House. Both of which were great and for which Marius had managed to obtain tickets. Our discussions and explanations, and the other places we visited helped put these in context and gave us the bigger picture. Marius is clear, good fun and has a nice comfortable car. The ‘investigation’ is a super way of learning more about the communist period and seeing the sights connected with it.
