Enjoy an evening with Viennese Classical Music in the newly renovated Sala Terrena: the oldest concert hall in Vienna, where Mozart himself once played!

The Mozart Ensemble has been playing outstanding string quartet and piano trio concerts in the Sala Terrena for more than 20 years.

Their interpretations of classical chamber music in the unique Viennese style have continuously received unanimous public acclaim. The musicians’ exceptional performances and enthusiasm are always a great success with the audience. Performing in Austria and abroad, the Mozart Ensemble has established itself as a true “insider tip”.

Your tickets will be held at the theater box office for collection on the day of the performance. Please arrive with time (15 min) to collect the ticket before show starting time.

Tickets are Category A (Row 1 to 3) , category B (Row 4 to 6) and Students (All Rows).

Not wheelchair accessible, there are 3 steps down to enter the concert hall. Please advise at time of booking if wheelchair assistance is required.

Concerts at the Mozarthaus

Make your way to the concert location at the Sala Terrena, located in the heart of Vienna. Inside the venue, look around at the historic frescoes that embellish the interior of the concert hall in Vienna. Sit back and enjoy the 1.5-hour program, performed by a String Quartet dressed in original historical costumes (Wed. Fri. Sat. Sun) and by a Piano Trio, (Tue. The). Listen to well-known compositions by Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, Hadyn, and others. Imagine what it may have been like to sit and listen to a concert here centuries ago. A lovely concert! My family and I loved it. We appreciated that one of the members of the quartet briefly explained each piece beforehand. Worth noting, you're sitting quite close together and there's no a/c. They have an intermission, it was nice to get some air outside and they sold drinks.

We agree with the comments that it is not exactly a cheap experience but it certainly is an experience not to be missed. We booked through Get Your Guide and chose Category A tickets where we were lucky enough to be seated on the front row. The Get Your Guide booking was very clear where the concert was being held and a Google maps link was provided. We followed this and found the venue with ease. As others have said the venue and room is magnificent, although perhaps a little airless. The interval gave an opportunity to break from the intimate setting, stretch the legs and enjoy welcome refreshments. The performance itself was by a string quartet who were all clearly very talented. A good mix of well recited music by a variety of composers interweaved with entertaining explanations and stories surrounding the pieces. Would certainly recommend to all classical music lovers (or those just dipping their toe into the classical music world).

Absolutely amazing experience. The intimate venue makes it worth it even more. Each and every one were great, but I will forever remember the cello pieces.

Accidently bought student tickets on line,so at site was charged 34 euros extra ! Had to pay in cash, as no card machine working, and no receipt, so assumed it went into someone's pocket. Concert OK but lead violin seemed off tune at times. Nice environment.

Yes this was expensive for what it was BUT it was one of the most delightful experiences that we had in Vienna. The room was beautiful and the performances were fabulous. We especially enjoyed the stories and explanations between each performance.
