While you sip your drink and eat some appetizers, you prepare our famous bread "pão de queijo". You will learn about the ingredients, and their origin and also try the vegetables, cooked in a very simple way, they are part of our cuisine and its roots. Our special cheese is "queijo coalho", to have that you will learn a delicious pineapple pepper jelly that goes together, and also "camarão na tapioca " (deep fried shrimp). Since the desert needs to cool off you prepare that first, "brigadeiro" is a traditional sweet, easy to make, and popular in any Cafes you visit in Brazil. For the main dish you marinate the fish, or prawns, or seafood, which will be part of the "moqueca". The side dishes for that, also prepared, are Brazilian style rice, "pirão", "farofa". This is one of the best excursions I did in Salvador. I did the class with my mom and sister and had so much fun. She is really sweet and helpful. This lasted four hours and we made so much food we had plenty to take back with us. The location is safe the home is nice the ingredients are fresh I HIGHLY recommend. If you are in Salvador and having trouble finding authentic good food I recommend you take this class. This was truly a 10/10 and really nice as an American to do a tour with someone who speaks perfect English.

Cooking with Karla was great! She hosts an interactive cooking class in her home. We seasoned the fish, mixed food on the stove, cooked, and drank. I was full before we finished and would rebook her class again. It was also great to meet another solo traveler who also booked this class.

This is a unique experience. Having this opportunity to learn to make Mukeka, Caipirinhas and brigadeiros is one of the greatest things you can do while in Salvador Bahia.

Cooking the courses with Karla was so much fun. The food was delicious and I’m going to get the ingredients so I can let the rest of the family in on authentic Brazilian cuisine. Still have one last Brigadiero to enjoy.

What an immersive experience of a traditional Brazil cuisine! Karla showed me a lot of traditional food, snacks, coffee, and wine in the marketplace, and presented us a detailed hands-on lesson of Bahia traditional home cook dishes. I enjoyed the time learning and exchanging culture and experiences. The foods are just so right, clean, not heavy in oil which I prefer. This is definitely the highlight of my trip.

I had an amazing experience in Karla’s Bahia cuisine cooking class. From the moment we arrived, she created a warm, joyful atmosphere that made everyone feel at home! She was even able to accommodate the main dish for me to make something different than the rest of the class, as I cannot eat fish. Karla’s passion for her culture shines through in every detail. The food we made was delicious, and I left with new techniques, recipes, and a deeper appreciation for Bahia’s culinary traditions. This class is perfect for anyone who loves Brazilian food or wants an authentic cultural experience. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Salvador. Thank you, Karla, for an unforgettable and delicious day!
