One fine morning, meet our English-speaking guide at the meeting point and go shopping to one of the hidden local markets in Yangon. Hiding yourself among the local shoppers and vendors and buy the ingredients that we need for a day to cook. Normally, we will show you how does it look like traditional Burmese cooking methods. You can also show us your talents in cooking if wanted. Having a chat with your guide, his family while we’re preparing our cooking in the kitchen. This is going to be really understanding of Myanmar culture, their foods and their living styles at home. Definitely this tour is uncovering the real Myanmar and understanding the foods of the country.

This was a great experience I'd recommend to anybody. After I was picked up by Jack and 2 of his nieces, our first stop was a local market where we did the shopping. - and had breakfast! I loved my bowl of mohinga, although I should have tipped away more of the chilli than I did (it was served in the spoon so you can choose how much you want), it blew my head off! We also stopped at a tea shop before going back to Jack's apartment where I met his wife. They are a lovely family and the chance to meet a Burmese family in their own home was really interesting. You can participate in the food prep really as much or as little as you want, but it is billed a cooking class! Most of the food was great - not so keen on the century old egg, but at least I can say I've tried it! Highly recommended.
