First-hand experience in Thai culture and cooking that you cannot miss. Cooking in a unique traditionally built teak house and join the local way of living at Lanta Thai Cookery School, situated in the heart of a lush rubber plantation. We grow their own vegetables and herbs here in our garden. We plan to share the love of cooking Thai food with Thai food lovers through fun and delicious Thai cooking courses in our open-plan kitchen under the instruction of a local chef.
• Learn how to cook 4 out of 10 dishes together. Individual choice of Chicken, Beef, Seafood, or Vegetarian.
• Visit the garden to see herbs, spices & vegetables and discover the essential ingredients in Thai cuisine.
• Enjoy the food you have created, just the perfect thing, when you want a break from the beach!
• Receive a certificate after your class and free transportation to and from your hotel.

The person who comes with but doesn't want to cook pay an extra 500 Baht per person. Includes share of food and transportation.
All dishes can be either vegetarian, vegan, spicy or non spicy to suite to your own taste.
There are at least 2 people required to start the cooking class. The class size is limited to maximal 12 persons.
Children aged between 7-11 years and can choose only 2 dishes.
The group chooses 4 out of 10 dishes together, individually you can choose type of meat etc.as well as spice level.

Your journey begins with a quick transfer from your hotel on Koh Lanta along the main road between Saladan and Kantiang Bay. Lanta Thai Cookery School situated in the heart of a lush rubber plantation. Here you can learn to cook that favorite Thai recipe. We will quickly teach you all you need to know about the herbs, vegetables, and spices used in Thai food. Learn how easy it is to cook authentic Thai cuisine with a Thai chef with a long experience. Let the cooking begin! There are 10 dishes to choose from and you get to prepare 4 in total. The session starts with a vote among the group for which dishes everyone would like to cook. The four with the most votes will be the ones prepared. Once the dishes were selected, you will be suggested various ingredients used in Thai cooking. In addition, you will taste more delicious ingredients such as tamarind and palm sugar. Enjoy a feast of your own making at the end of the class!

5.00Really nice experience that can be recommended! Personally, I cooked myself while my partner was taking care of the baby. The beginning was a bit chaos when two groups start at the same time, confusion with seating and very loud volume when two leaders try to speak to each group at the same time. The experience started with us going to the local market (which is only offered on Thursdays if I understood correctly) The market was an experience that provided great knowledge of the ingredients used in Thai cuisine. Our group decided to cook tom yam, pad thai, paenang and dessert on sticky rice flour. The cooking was fun and gave a lot of inspiration to cook more Asian. Very knowledgeable chefs who led the whole activity. At the time of booking, it says maximum 10-12 people. In our case we were 13-14 people + accompanying two adults who took care of two small children. Highly recommended despite a bit of chaos at times.

5.00Organised by our hotel we were picked up and taken to the cooking school. We had a welcome drink and then we got stuck into it!. We picked 4 dishes for our group which i thought was good as otherwise it would have been way too much food and complicated! Our instructor was very clear and i liked the way she spoke to us about how to vary the dishes if we wanted. We were given a cook book with a pen to take notes. All the ingredients were there at our fingertips and she showed us how to cook it, then we had a go! No washing up and everything was taken away like clockwork. We only had 5 in the group but i thought how lovely this setting was - all outside, and surrounded by greenery. A great experience for my niece and my brother. Thanks!

1.00Very bad communication, booked a cooking class with them and cancelled a few hours before the class was supposed to start, as they were fully booked. If they were fully booked they should have messaged me after I booked the class not a few hours before the class starts. Would not recommend booking with them.

5.00This was such an incredible experience! My sister and I had so much fun. Our teacher was amazing, patient, kind and funny. The dishes we cooked were delicious and we even made new friends. Couldn't recommend more!

5.00Great cooking adventure. Super cooking teacher. Great care in time. It was a lot of fun. Definitely worth it. We were also lucky that the cooking group was quite small that day. Super explained and you get many tips and also a small cookbook for home. I feel well prepared to test those cooked at home:-) who is on Koh Lanta, definitely join in. Thanks to the great team:-)

5.00Wonderful experience at Lanta Thai Cookery School. Booked through a local travel guide, we were picked up at our Hotel and transported to the venue, a beautiful clean open, well equipped kitchen where we met our cooking instructor San who herself is a treat with her happy smile and cheerful personality. We got to choose 4 different Thai dishes from her Cookery book and had step by step instructions through each step, including little tips along the way. After each dish we had a small break where we could taste our various dishes that were simply delicious! We chose to cook Phad Thai, Panang Curry, Pad Krapow and our all around favourite Khao Soi with Chicken. NB: DO NOT HAVE BREAKFAST Whatever we didn’t eat we got to take home as Takeaways. Great value for money with bonus cookery book! Transported back to our Hotel. Well done to San and her team for a 1st Class experience!
