5.00Manuel was great! He was interesting and compassionate and knowledgeable and also lots of fun. There was a lot of walking so you have to be ready for that. One highlight was going into “The Dome”which used to house a prison in a massive circular building but is now a very cool public area. Highly recommend this tour!

5.00If you have a choice, I would book this tour over a tour of the Corrie Ten Boon house. It is such a wonderful 2 1/2 hour walking tour and review of Corrie’s life, the faith that kept her strong through difficult times, the places that her footsteps touched and also other important facts about the resistance movement in the Netherlands.

5.00We thoroughly enjoyed the tour with Manuel! He is pleasant to be around and he touched on many sites around Haarlem that were significant to the WWII hardships experienced in that area, the Netherlands, and beyond. His talks were comprehensive and filled with tidbits that we were not aware of. So many folks do not know who Corrie ten Boom and her family were or the role they played in helping to hide Jewish folks. Corrie’s testimony to the love of Christ during those difficult days lives on and Manuel shares her experiences through that lens, with facts that also celebrate the religion on the Jews. Time marches on and the tour that Manuel provides will help young folks understand the significance of hatred and violence inflicted on people who just want to be free to live their lives the way God intended. No matter your religious views, don’t miss this informative and meaningful tour. You will enjoy Manuel and the hours you are with him!

5.00This is to the point and if you want to hear my opinion read the second one. Really good small group tour about Corrie Ten Boom and WWII. Manuel was super kind and knowledgeable—he even wrote the script himself. He showed pictures that helped bring the history to life. It’s listed as 2 hours but went a bit longer (with a short break), and I honestly didn’t even notice because it was so interesting. Would definitely recommend. God bless him. My opinion I recently took a small group tour about the life of Corrie Ten Boom during World War II, and it was a really meaningful experience. The small group size made it feel more personal and helped me connect more deeply with the story. Our guide, Manuel, was excellent. He shared her story with genuine care, respect, and depth, which made it feel both powerful and personal. He was very knowledgeable about World War II and explained the wider historical context in a way that was easy to follow and engaging. He also wrote the script for the tour himself, and it was very well done. You could tell how much effort and thought he put into it. He brought along pictures from that time period, which really helped us imagine what life was like back then and made everything feel more real. The tour is listed as two hours, but I was so interested in everything being shared that I didn’t even notice it went on for about two and a half hours. There was a short bathroom break, which probably added a bit of time, but it honestly didn’t feel long at all—I enjoyed every moment. Manuel’s kindness and thoughtful approach really stood out, and it’s clear he has a deep respect for Corrie Ten Boom’s life and legacy. God bless him for the care and dedication he puts into sharing this story. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning more about her life and the history of World War II. It was truly an unforgettable experience.

4.00A lot of walking is involved. Your guide might walk very briskly, so if you are a senior like us, you need to be up to the challenge. The information and the telling of Corrie ten Boom's story are incredible and very much worth the effort. The buildings are all so well preserved; you feel like you're really walking inside the historical context of her life.
