This 24km cycling tour mainly covers the countryside of Colombo. Colombo is the key commercial capital city of Sri Lanka and most of the tourism sources described Colombo as shopping, nightlife & most entertaining city in Sri Lanka. So Colombo city positioned as a commercial city many traveller’s minds, but you do not believe a few miles away from the Colombo city limit… what beautiful countryside in Colombo.

08.00 AM - You will be greeted and picked up by our TUK TUK driver and driven you to the starting point of the cycling tour. 09.00 AM - On arrival to the starting point, your cycling tour guide will give you a brief introduction to the tour and safety. 09.15 AM - You will start your cycling with our guide and this three-hour tour mainly covers the countryside of Colombo and explore out of Colombo landscapes, paddy fields, water tanks, Bird sanctuary, and nature. You will also be able to visit parliament area, Diyawana Oya Lake area and Colombo Wetland. Furthermore, this tour is not just a paddling tour...! you will also explore wetland nature, folktales about history, last battle with the Portuguese army and en-route people will taste rotty with hot tea. In the final phase of the tour, you will visit the Kelaniya Sacred Temple. 12.30 PM - After the tour, you will be taken back to your hotel in Colombo by our TUK TUK driver.

5.00My husband and I did the Countryside Cycling Tour in Colombo with Ashan. Despite heavy rain, we had the best time and Ashan is hands down the best tour guide we’ve ever had. Ashan was so thoughtful about every aspect; because it was raining, he brought us sandals so we didn’t get our shoes wet, when the rain got heavy he pulled us into a stop and we enjoyed cups of tea while he taught us so much about Sri Lanka, and as I can be a bit of a nervous rider, he always had an eye to make sure I was okay and modified the route to make sure we had a great time whilst still being comfortable. After weeks of mainly doing the tourist hot spots and activities based around eating/drinking, it was so lovely to get out in the open air and have a ride, meeting locals and seeing Sri Lanka from a bike rather than a bus! When Ashan spotted some locals fishing, he pulled over to talk to them and show us the fish, and when he spotted a crocodile in the water he took us back to wait to try to spot it again. This ride was one of our favourite things we’ve done in Sri Lanka, thank you so much Ashan! We’ll definitely be reaching out to do something else fun next time we’re in Sri Lanka!
