Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre
After approximately 2 hours coach touring from Launceston through the lush landscape and rolling farmland of Sheffield and the North West Coast we arrive at the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre. Located on the park boundary, enjoy the interpretive displays, park information, up to date weather information and learn everything there is to know about this stunning alpine area. The Centre also has toilet facilities, a gift shop, cafe and takeaway and is known for it's friendly and knowledgeable staff. Beautiful native gardens surround the Centre. Enjoy a short 5 minute walk to cascading waterfalls, known as the Enchanted Forest Walk.

5.00This was a great day out. Extremely well organised by Ben and Steve who both had incredible knowledge of the area and its history. I did the 2 hour Dove Lake walk which i would highly recommend. We went at our own pace and the views were amazing.

5.00Fantastic day out if you want to relax, not worry about driving and enjoy a professional and friendly trip to a wonderful location. Our driver David was superb and an expert driver who took some of the windy roads with great safety and skill. Scenery was great and the lunch enjoyable.

Extremely Rude Guide. We travelled on 21/November 2025 , last month. The guide was in hurry for everything. Strict rules

1.00It’s not about price. It’s about behaviour of guide. Rude and arrogant. He took us back to Launceston quiet early and we had little time to spend in cradle mountain as if he had to rush back his home. We were not allowed to speak among ourselves because he was saying about history about the places. Quite understandable but not allowing talking to my child was kiddish and way too much expectation. My child was upset with his rude behaviour. I was asking the way in cradle mountain, more than explaining the way , for every half sentence he said to come back on time mentioning the time sooo many times.

4.00Bring enough cloth to expect the unexpected cold and rain. Suggest more time at Sheffield, so travelers can have time to walk around and see those wall painting.

5.00It was cold and rainy, bring layers in November. Couldn't see the mountains due to the weather, but that's ok.
