Once in Norway you cannot leave without trying our national sport!
This trip is a skiing course, conducted in a scenic surrounding and relaxed atmosphere for the ones who have never tried cross country skiing before or still lack basic techniques.
We ski in flat terrain, mostly on prepared trails on the top of Tromsøya island, only 5 minutes drive from the city center.
At first we teach basic techniques and begin to ski in a flat area.
By the end of the tour you can challenge yourself on small hills and you should be able to practice your new skills on your own later on.
Public transportation options are available nearby

This is your perfect opportunity to learn to cross-country ski in a scenic and relaxed environment. Your professional ski guide will teach you the fundamentals from the ground up, starting with the essentials like how to use your ski bindings, how to fall "the right way" to avoid injury, and—most importantly—how to get back up on your own. From there, you will practice how to walk, run, and glide with your skis on prepared, flat trails. After gaining some practice, you'll get the chance to challenge yourself on small hills, learning the techniques to walk up and safely slide down. After this tour, many of our guests feel confident enough to rent skis and continue practicing on their own. It's great fun at all times!

A brilliant experience learning to ski in Norway. I had never been skiing, but Marta was incredibly kind, patient and helpful. A lot of fun if not a little scary initially, and the lefse was a great treat at the end too!

If u haven't tried skiing, it's a fun experience, however it may be slightly overpriced given the whole thing.

Very patient and friendly instructor, Leia :) Clear instructions and comfy bus. Ride was just 10mins away from town. Very good experience for first timer and make sure everyone gets it. Must try for first timers :)

Well run and quite good. Teaches quite a bit in the time available. Helps to have at least average fitness to do everything.

We were as a family with 2 adult children in the cross-country course of Jeppe and Tomas. They super guided and motivated the group despite intense snow. You learn the most important techniques and finally you can run alone at your own pace. A few days later, we rented cross-country skiing equipment at Tromsö Outdoor, which was really top - and there were tips for cross-country skiing right away. You can also rent ski clothing and goggles at reasonable prices.

My husband and I did the beginner cross-country ski lesson with Tromsø outdoors and we had a great time. Our Danish instructor (Ylber? Sorry if that is incorrect) was fantastic and put everyone at ease. He explained everything well, and catered for the different abilities in the group. If you are unsure whether to book this experience, I say, go for it. You will not regret it!

Having never put a pair of skis on before, this was exactly as described. A good introduction , with helpful guidance from the friendly instructors. We were hampered slightly by the weather on the day, but it was still a great experience in lovely surroundings. I definitely hope to put some skis on again soon.

We tried cross country skiing for the first time and had a really good time. Cris was our tour guide and he patiently taught us the basic skills. He also provided tips and feedback while we skied and had fun. We were only 2 people who joined that day and appreciate that the company kept the tour.
