Your host is a friendly 4th generation Singapore Chinese Peranakan with a strong passion to share real life experiences about growing up in Singapore since the 70's.

His in-depth experience of the different ethnic neighbourhoods and hawker markets promises an adventure of discovery the vibrancy of the local streets and street food now run by 2nd or 3rd generation family members, the people and the diverse communities. You will be introduced to a wide variety of locally popular street food favourites and get to know better your host and the country through his eyes and life's experiences.

This fun and engaging Mixed Group adventure is for those who want to experience unique traditional street food in the UNESCO inscribed hawker centres located in the ethnic neighbourhoods of Chinatown & Little India. This unique culture has been deeply embedded in the Singapore way of life since the colonial days of early 19th century until today.

This trip is really worth recommending, you can experience Singapore's diversity with all your senses and it is a great adventure! But what also makes it special and unforgettable is Gerry who is not only a great guide but also a wonderful person :) Thanks to him we had an amazing time and we will keep that memories forever!

If you are travelling to Singapore for the first time, this tour is a must! You will visit the real heart of Singapore and experience the rich cultural diversity first hand with the amazing guide - Gerry. We met the locals and chatted with stall owners. We visited hawker food centres, shopping centres and a Buddhist temple. We ate delicious food and sampled juices and beers. We traveled by car, train and bus and experienced Singapore upfront and personally. We would highly recommend this tour for everyone! My husband is visually impaired and loved the tour. In fact, we are coming back next year to do it again with our friends. It was a fabulous experience. Thank you Gerry!

Don’t eat before the tour! Lots of great local food! Interactions with two other couples plus Gerry was just the right size group.

Cultural and food tour today for us, because who doesn’t want to try all the things. We visited Chinatown, and the Indian and Malay areas with a local guide who knew all the secret spots. He bought us a crazy amount of local foods, some of which were Michelin rated, and some local beers to try in the name of research. Actually, I think it’s because he likes beer and loves his job. Haha He was like a celebrity at each place, and all the leftover food, which was a lot, was distributed to people who needed it. It was great fun to experience the markets and see what the locals do, especially the older generation, every day. Gerry, our guide, gave us history and cultural lessons along the way, but let's be real, we were there for the food. We got around by car, train, and bus. We felt like locals. And of course, gelato at the end was the perfect ending to a perfect day. Thank you Gerry
