Stella Maris Monastery

Mount Carmel is holy to all religions thanks to Elijah the prophet. Therefore it was natural that this unique order will be formed right here on mount Carmel. Stella Maris Monastery in Haifa commemorates several famous characters within the Carmelite Order - a Catholic order known for its devotion to Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Elijah the prophet. Four famous saints with connections to the order are St. Edith Stein, St. Teresa of Avila, St. John of the Cross, and St. Mariam Baouardy. These saints were important figures in the history and development of the Carmelite Order and their legacies continue to inspire people around the world.
