Shirley Heights
Shirley Heights Lookout - The most beautiful viewpoint on English and Falmouth Harbour, but the sun does not set directly over the bay, but a little to the side over the open sea. From this viewpoint you can also see the neighbouring islands of Montserrat and Guadeloupe. On Thursday and Sunday evenings there is an entrance fee 10 usd, the rest of the time it is free to visit. The Blockhouse - The viewpoint at the largest fortress overlooks Antigua's east coast and therefore offers spectacular sunrises. Interpretation Center - The lookout at the information centre with its small gift shop boasts the best views of the sunsets, which go over the horizon almost exactly over English Harbour, but most days it closes at 5pm and it is impossible to get over the fence to the view. It tends to be open irregularly into the evening, however you can always continue to the other viewpoints mentioned above, which are reached by the same road.
Betty's Hope
Step back in time with a visit to Betty’s Hope, Antigua’s first and largest sugar plantation, established in 1674. Once a centerpiece of the island’s sugar industry, Betty’s Hope offers a glimpse into Antigua’s colonial past and the role sugar played in shaping its history. Explore the restored sugar mill, learn about the lives of those who worked the plantation, and view historical artifacts in the small on-site museum. Surrounded by open countryside, it’s both a cultural landmark and a place for reflection. Highlights: Visit Antigua’s first large sugar plantation, founded in the 17th century See the restored windmill and learn about sugar production Explore the museum with exhibits on plantation life Discover an important part of Antigua’s history and heritage Good to Know: Location: Pares Village, Antigua Best combined with tours of Devil’s Bridge, Nelson’s Dockyard, or an island sightseeing trip Comfortable shoes recommended

Having booked the tour for the afternoon we were picked up on time by Gregson (Gloade) in a very clean minibus. He discussed with us were we were interested in going. His English is excellent and very clear. We had a really good discussion with Gregson as we toured around, who told us a lot about the island we did not know from previous tours. One of the places he took us too was a new shopping area that is being constructed in Jolly harbour out of shipping containers, really impressive. We would definitely recommended Gregson for an entertaining and informative 5 hours

Nice seeing the island just as a family and being able to customize the itinerary. Good customer service. A couple of suggestions- maybe add to the website excursion is for a driver only. Our driver pointed out spots as he was driving but when we stopped and got out, we were on our own. Others on excursions had the guide that stayed with them and explained history and important information. Also very surprised when the driver took us to a park and then told us we needed to pay the admission fees. It would have not been so bad if it was only a couple of $$ person but for 6 of us, they wanted almost $100 US. Our meeting point was by duty free stand. We didn’t realize there were two taxi stands. Our driver wasn’t allowed to enter the main area. Thankfully a woman saw our frustration and she had a guy take us down a couple of streets to find our driver. Without help, we never would have found the driver. Overall, it was nice getting off the ship and doing some sightseeing

The Tour guide was a very nice man, but knew very little history of the island. We also suspect that he was getting high. We were almost in two accidents. We would not recommend this tour.

It was fun but we spent more time driving. Had hoped our driver would have given us some recommendations. Timeline was not communicated well as to how long we had.

We ( a group of seven) were able to get our own van and go where we wanted. They had a schedule and we were able to adjust it to spend time where we wanted to go and skip what we were less interested in. We got info, local recommendations ( great lunch) and a great guide( Edwards).
