  What a wonderful excursion to nature, in the middle of Kolkata! With my wonderful guide Shirish I went to know the eastern wetlands by bike. It was such a respite from the city's contamination and hustle, truly what I needed. The tour takes you on car-free (yes!) paths around the wetlands. We saw countless birds and observed local fishermen do their job. The silence and magical early morning atmosphere made my Kolkata trip complete. 100% recommended.

  As a regular business visitor to Kolkata over the last 8 years I am always looking to explore the city in my down time and have done various trips and outings, but this was hands down the best trip I done so far. As a lone traveller it is always important that I feel safe, and Shirish ensured this at all times. This trip takes you to a part of Kolkata rarely known about or visited by tourists and by bike is the best way to see it. The bike and hat provided were well maintained. I am regular cyclist so found this a relatively easy cycle but there is some narrow off road paths, and cycling through traffic. Rest assured Shirish will make this easy and comfortable and will go at your pace. The tour was informative, the cycle through the city was exhilarating, and the peace and tranquility of this edge of the city location was a really special moment. Miss this location, views, way of life and the amazing Shirish at your own peril.

  Would highly recommend this experience. It was a pleasure to join Shirish for this well organised, interesting cycle trip through the wetlands. We learnt about the ecological benefits of this unique ecosystem and enjoyed the serenity of this early morning tour. Our bikes were fine and cycle helmets were provided. Even the few km of cycling through Kolkata were fine as Shirish planned a safe route and looked after everyone. A lovely bonus was the photos taken by Shirish, sent after the tour.

  The moment we hopped onto the bikes, I knew we had made a good choice. I had never expected to be bicycling in Kolkata, minutes from the city but surrounded by lush greenery. The water bodies, the trees and plants, the stillness - all beautiful. The cycling was tougher than I anticipated, the terrain is very rough ground. Mr Poddar, a nature lover, is a very good guide. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed the morning.

  Shirish, our guide, was well prepared. With bikes, helmets, gloves. Our tour lasted about 2.5 hours. Some of it is on city roads. Most on the wetlands. Shirish stopped to provide information about the locations. Enjoyed it thoroughly.

  The cycle on the wetlands was so beautiful, the calm waters and the stillness of the early morning watching the sunrise were lovely. Seeing the local fishermen working as a team was great! Shirish was such a lovely conversationalist, telling us so much about India, how the wetlands work and describing the plants in the area. The trail was such a contrast to the hustle and bustle of the Kolkata! We also appreciated the wonderful coffee near the end!   A really enjoyable start to the day. Shirish is a very nice and informative guide who got us safely to the Wetlands. After a few days in the city it was nice to be able to have a relaxing cycle literally 5 minutes as from the city. I would definitely recommend this tour.

  We were looking for something different on our last day in Kolkata after having had our senses assaulted by the busy and chaotic t Human and vehicle traffic that characterises Kolkata Shirish offered us just that chance for an escape into a serene world of lakes, tiny fishing communities right in the heart of Kolkata. All bikes, helmets and gear was provided along with a friendly and informative 3 hour mountain bike tour around a small fraction of the 90 odd Kms of trails thru the lakes that make up the wetlands. There is a bit of street traffic to negotiate before entering the wetlands but a combination of early 6am start and Shirish expertly guiding us made that part entirely comfortable Highly recommend this tour as it’s worth every cent

  An amazing experience, set off time is early so you miss the extreme heat of the afternoon. If you are interested in getting a feel for the true Kolkata I would recommend this tour. Shirish was an excellent guide, providing opportunities to fully appreciate the surroundings and detailed knowledge of the wet lands. I would definitely do this again.
