  A fantastic week, Gareth and Fiona were extremely welcoming and incredible hosts. I joined the beginners triathlon camp and they both had amazing knowledge regarding training, pushing me out of my comfort zone on all activities, that I have left the week reaching goals I didn’t think was possible. I can't recommend Girona Cycling/Mas Pelgri enough, the hotel is absolutely stunning!!

  

  

  

• Idyllic country bike experience

  Gareth was the ultimate guide, filling me in on local color and providing detailed maps and descriptions of various routes in the area. He went above and beyond in helping me to get to the location and back to Barcelona. I would absolutely return again to Serinyá!

  

• Wonderful week of road cycling

  I went with a group of people from our cycling club, for a week's cycling. We had a warm welcome, helpful tips and suggestions for both lovely and challenging rides that we did from Mas Pelegri. It was a peaceful and beautiful location, and we even enjoyed yoga by the pool before our day of cycling!

  Our fourth visit to Mas Pelegri, home of Girona Cycling. Whereas previous visits had been for triathlon camp and road cycling we opted to explore offroad on this trip. Over recent years we’ve migrated from MTB to gravel and tend to ride more and more gravel rather than road. We asked Girona Cycling to guide us on 5 days of gravel in the hills and mountains around Banyoles and Besalú. As always, we were made to feel very welcome by hosts Gareth and Fiona in the comfortable accommodation offered by Mas Pelegri. We stayed in one of the apartments this time but opted to take breakfast and dinner in the main house. With Gareth as our guide, we enjoyed exploring some fabulous trails without the burden of having to navigate. I sense we only touched a very small portion of the off-road routes available to us. A wide range of terrain to suit all abilities. We spent time on gentle trails and signed and rated MTB trails. You want easy; it’s there. You want difficult – well, that’s there too. Would thoroughly recommend – there’s even morning yoga by the pool with host Fiona. No better way to start your day.   Mas Pelegri is superb. The accomodation is perfect and the food is excellent. Gareth and Fiona are wonderfull hosts - and I really mean that - it turns out I had contracted COVID before arrival at Mas Pelegri and came down with it when there. Gareth and Fiona went out of their way to help us out - setting us up in a garden suite away from everyone, delivering food and helping with local advice (testing etc). We managed a couple of day’s cycling before the ‘bug’ got me and the routes Gareth provided where great. The cycling is wonderful around there. Scenery and roads are great - and the car drivers are the absolute best. You’ll never feel threatened! Well done Catalunya! • The kindness of strangers

  We had a wonderful experience at Girona Cycling , Hotel Mas Pelegrí, which just made us feel grateful for the kindness of strangers. We arrived and experienced two days of gorgeous riding with a peaceful oasis waiting when we got back. Gareth and Fiona were both so helpful and we just loved the first two rides. Food was delicious, healthy and plentiful and the yoga and swimming pool were first class. Then my husband felt unwell and tested positive for covid. This is when Fiona and Gareth and their team became magnificent! We were far away from home and scared and worried. They immediately made us comfortable in a garden suite so we could isolate. They brought us all meals. They helped us navigate the Spanish medical system and we were able to get excellent help from the doctor and laboratory in Banyoles. They went above and beyond to make sure we were ok and we recuperated there until we were able to continue our travels. There’s a lot more cycling we want to do in the area so when we next come back to Europe we will definitely return here. Traveling can often be challenging but good humans and helpful hosts are the rewards along the way. We were lucky we got sick here and the empathy and support was beyond five star.

  Just arrived back home after a really amazing week at Mas Pelegris (home of Girona Cycling), feeling totally refreshed physically and mentally, despite doing more cycling in one week than I ever did before. The bike was excellent, way better than my bike, and only a week old. A lot of the roads were virtually traffic-free, including some never-ending decents (and climbs!) through pristine countryside and along the coast. Gareth has mapped out some great routes, which he also provides for self navigation if not going guided. The hotel complex is set in a tranquil location so you feel in the middle of nature, surrounded by singing birds, fields and trees, but yet only 10 minutes or so away from Banyoles by car if you want an evening out. There is also a naturally heated 25m outdoor swimming pool for additional training or relaxing after cycling. I joined the free yoga class every morning and I finished off with the most amazing massage from Fiona. A brilliant holiday!

• Hidden gem of Girona

  Gareth guided expertly through beautiful countryside and roads with pristine surfaces. Combination of great climbs and picturesque historic villages. The hotel was great; good facilities, friendly and accommodating staff, daily yoga with Fiona. Really enjoyed may stay. So much more to do than just cycle and would definitely recommend as a place to go cycling or take family for walking, running, cycling, swimming, etc.
