Danakil Depression is one of the most inhospitable regions of the world with spectacular and full of eye-catching colors like sulphur springs. You pass through a small town of Berhale where the camel caravan stop before they proceed to the northern highlands. En route you see many long camel caravans coming to the salt mine and others going out of the Danakil with their salt loaded camels. This tour is for the adventure lovers. You will be joining this tour along with fellow travelers.

Morning: Depart from Mekele in a 4x4 convoy, heading into the Danakil Depression. Enjoy stunning views of Ethiopia’s remote landscapes along the way. Afternoon: Arrive at the base of Erta Ale Volcano, one of the world’s most active lava lakes. After a short rest and dinner, prepare for an evening trek to the volcano’s summit (3-4 hours hike).
