Minimum age for kayaking is 16 (up to age 18, you must be accompanied by an adult). If you are bringing a companion who is NOT kayaking (they do not paddle, they go directly to the ranch).

5.004x4 is only the transportation but the kayaking is spectacular and the lunch was one of the best I’ve ever had on an excursion. It is served in a rustic cabin and cooked on a fire - I think everything was prepared without electricity which made the whole experience super quaint and authentic. There are no rapids and just enough of a current so won’t struggle completely as a beginner or if somewhat out of shape. Dry suits are sufficient to keep you warm even in the rain. Equipment was of high quality and guide was superb and welcoming even to a novice.

5.00We had a wonderful day out with Patagonia Profundo. Ruben was our guide and Juan our driver and preparer of lunch. They were a great team - thanks guys!! The whole trip was fabulous. Pickup and drop off in a comfortable 4x4 truck, very clear explanations of what to expect, how to suit up in our kayaking gear, how to kayak, and what to do along the way. We enjoyed the kayaking along the Rio Santa Cruz, including the (gentle) rapids. Nobody capsized! We saw plenty of guanaco, an eagle, some rheas, birds, sheep, even an armadillo!, and learnt a lot about the area. Ruben was very knowledgeable and provided great commentary along the way. After the kayaking, we enjoyed an absolutely delicious three course lunch (more than we could possibly eat!!), along with some lovely red wine. We were able to purchase excellent photos as a record of our trip. All in all, a great way to see the landscape around El Calafate in a small group, the perfect length trip. Highly recommended!!

5.00I had never driven a kayak, and at the suggestion of the hostel, I encouraged me to do this activity, it is very good!! Don't miss it if you come to the Calafate! You guide them very well, they help you at all times

5.00Perform this activity exclusively at the suggestion of the agency and it was deadly! Driving a kayak along the river, a very nice experience, all the nature that surrounds this day, has no waste
