In the morning you’ll be picked up from a hotel to start your exciting tour. We’ll head towards Burana Tower to the small town of Tokmok (80km from Bishkek). You will drive along the border with Kazakhstan and, if the weather is clear, you will see the beautiful scenery of the Tien Shan mountains. Tokmak was the second largest industrial city in Kyrgyzstan during the Soviet times, and you can see some of the Soviet monuments while driving through the city. Then you will pass through several small but picturesque villages, and you will be able to see the life of the locals outside the capital.
Burana Tower
Your guide will show you the mausoleums and other buildings discovered by archaeologists during excavations, you will have a chance to climb to the top of the ancient tower, where there is a beautiful view of the Chui valley and the Tien-Shan mountains open. Visit the small museum, which presents various archaeological artifacts, as well as an open-air museum, which contains ancient gravestones, rock drawings, and other interesting historical objects found on the territory of our country.

5.00We had amazing guide Farukh, very knowledgeable and helpful. Hike wasn’t very difficult (but you need proper shoes, no sandals or flip-flops). Burana tower is impressive along with stone idols around it. We had two stops for food and it’s also was good. Long and memorable day.

5.00Very good tour. The tour guide, Faruk, was really friendly and knowledgeable, and he shared a ton of interesting insights into life in Kyrgyzstan. He was also flexible with the pace of the hike, and the timing for some of the basics like food and restroom stops, and I think that made it a very comfortable day vs how many other tours (with different providers of course) can often feel over-produced. Also, the canyon itself was a good hike/walk, with nice views, and the entire stop for the tower was interesting and well worth it. I have some great photos and memories I'll be taking with me from the tour, thank you!

5.00I had a great time on this tour. Farukh is a fantastic guide and really knew the history and geography of the places we visited. He also cracked some great jokes and had a really fun demeanor. Burana Tower is such a cool historical site and the hike in the canyon led to some incredible views. All in all it was a great day.
