  Nice but long day. It was definitely worth it. So if you have the chance, I would definitely plan it. I read a lot about the journey by car. Because of that I was a bit dreading it, many stories about a long roller coaster and being nauseous etc. Taken pills in advance to combat nausea but was not applicable in our case. Yes, it is when you leave civilization 1 hour down and back up and many turns but whole road is paved and therefore doable. Return without pills well endured and again enjoyed the view. Nacho and Caleb, thank you for the safe ride by car. The transport to and from the islands was also well organized. When we got off a boat there was someone ready to tell us via google translate how long we stayed on this island or if we had lunch there. That way we knew exactly where we stood.   Such a fun and organized tour! Ignacio picked us up right on time and got us to the docks early. Recommend bringing motion sickness medicine because the drive through the jungle to the docks had a lot of turns/ups/downs. He brought us to a rest stop on the way there and on the way back. Nice to get some snacks and a bathroom break! The boat guide we had was named Alan. He was very polite, helpful, gave us times of when we’d have lunch and stop at the other islands.   Long one-way journey with a big break at noon Then small boat at 8 to arrive on the first chichimen island where you can already snorkel: seen a manta ray and bcp of fish. Then very simple lunch and departure by boat for a stop in the open sea for starfish observation (indeed seen 2 beautiful stars) then stop for the island del Diablo where it was the fish festival. Beautiful. Corals a few meters from the beach and warm water , a delight.

  Beautiful places to visit. Glad we did this excursion. Good value since pickup is included (was a mid-size SUV with 6 passengers plus driver—not very comfortable if you’re tall). Lunch was tasty—had the fish fillet. Recommend bringing your own snacks and drinks.

  Amazing! Super recommended, from the motorists who pick you up from your hotel and are on the lookout to leave you, Ariel and Nachito very friendly. On the island very attentive and friendly people, on the spectacular beach!

  We had booked the tour from the pretty beach hotel, not only did they not come looking for us, but they said we gave the location wrong when they never contacted us for that information.   A nice trip, fulfilled expectations, incredible scenery. He always wants more, but he was magnificent. Special mention for carrier, Nicanor was an excellent host, made the trip an experience. Highly recommended

  I recommended checking the weather as September is one of their rainiest months. I was able to book accordingly by checking the weather before hand and enjoyed the experience (including the sun). Consider bringing water, sunscreen, towel and snacks. Enjoy!

• Disappointing visit to the San Blas Islands.

  Firstly we would like to thank Nacho our driver for getting us safely to Port Carti ( a 2 hour journey) and then back to our hotel safely and without incident. This review is not a reflection of him. The road was narrow but well maintained without a single pothole. Our visit was colored on arrival at the small fishing village of Port Carti and boat launching point by the trash (plastic bottles, paper plates, plastic bags and cans) which was evident everywhere. It was also present at our first stop (Perro Chico) where it adorned the coast line and was scattered along the foot path. The lunch of fried fish was not very appetizing although our hosts and servers were hospitable. The snorkeling experience was also disappointing. The last Island that we stopped at (El Diablo) was really nice and we wished that we could have come here first and spent the day here instead of going elsewhere. The coral reef was teeming with fish life which made snorkeling interesting. Another disappointment was with level of service offered by the boat operators to their clients. In many cases the height of the boats were vastly different from that of the dock and with the waves it kept changing however, no one was helping the visitors to embark and disembark the motorized canoes. My experience here was totally different/opposite to that of my visit to the Chagres National Reserve where customer service was quite good and the area mostly devoid of trash. It was carefully collected during our visit in trash bags to be disposed of properly later on.
