Lincoln Memorial

You will also see the grand Lincoln Memorial, a monument which was constructed to honor President Abraham Lincoln, the 16th United States president. The monument towers over the Reflecting Pool, in the western end of the National Mall.

Vietnam Veterans Memorial

You will pass by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, a 2-acre national memorial which pays tribute to the members of the U.S Armed Forces who fought in the Vietnam War and were killed or missing in action. The memorial is made up of three separate parts: the Three Soldiers statue, the Vietnam Women’s Memorial and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial War, considered the most popular feature.

We had such a wonderful experience on this walking tour of the Washington DC monuments and memorials! Annemarie was friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly informative—sharing not just the history, but also stories that brought the sites to life. The pace was perfect, never rushed, and she made sure everyone felt engaged and comfortable. What really stood out was how much she went above and beyond. She gave us great local tips and food recommendations for the rest of our stay, and even offered to take our picture—a thoughtful touch that made for a much better memory than our usual selfies. This tour was a great way to start our trip, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting DC!

We had Brenda as our tour guide for the DC National Mall tour, and she was excellent. What we enjoyed the most was the thoughtfulness and perspective she offered at each memorial and at the Washington Monument. Her depth of knowledge really showed and made the tour that much better. She also offered us some tips while in DC and they have already come in handy. Thank you Brenda!

Brenda gave us a super great morning in Washington. She was so friendly and had an incredible amount of knowledge, which she conveyed very clearly. We were very lucky that the three of us were alone with Brenda. We can recommend her 1000 percent and would like to thank her once again for the great tour. In the end we were able to climb the Washington Monument without any problems. Everything worked out wonderfully.

Maureen did an amazing job leading our tour! She pointed out all the monuments along the Mall while giving interesting background and historical context. We all learned something new. Maureen was engaging and helpful. Going up in the Washington Monument at the end of the tour was fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience!

We lucked out with a beautiful day and an amazing tour guide for the DC Mall and Washington Monument tour. Brenda was VERY informative, funny and always asked if we had questions. There was so much she told us that you would never know if you walked the mall and memorials yourself. I highly recommend this tour!!

Our tour guide, Brenda, was personable, responsive to our group's needs, and paced the tour well. She was also knowledgeable about both local and national history. I feel like this was a unique tour and a manageable amount of walking for tweens & teens. Given this experience, we would definitely book again with Babylon.

Maureen was personable, friendly, and informative as we walked around to the various monuments. We especially enjoyed the view from the top of the Washington Monument.

We had the best tour with Annemarie! Our tour was nice and small, only 7 of us and we not only stopped at the Lincoln memorial and war memorials but learned a lot about the design of the DC mall as well as lots of hidden secrets at each of the sites. She managed to even keep our kids engaged and learning, would absolutely do another tour with her!
