Crossing Tahiti Nui by Safari 4x4 offer the possibility to discover a rich and green landscape, with lots of water and waterfalls. The green side of the heart of the Island will amaze you.
Tahiti is the largest island in French Polynesia, Mana is present in the heart of the Island!
We take the only road who allow us to see Vaihiria lake, the largest natural lake on Tahiti.
The landscape, mountains, valleys, plants, rocks and rivers are wonderful places to disconnect, to recharge and to fill up with good energy.
Pickup time confirmed one day before the tour.
Food Lunch not included, we can stop at a store or snack to buy by yourself your lunch OR you can bring it by yourself.

Tahiti
Your guide will make you discover Tahiti's centre during the crossing Island tour. You could admire the lush vegetation, the fauna and flora, the rivers and waterfalls. A swim is planned at a cultural water point and filled with Mana, the ancestors' energy. He will talk you about Maohi people, his roots, he will make you feel Tahiti's heart Mana. Several stops are planned where your guide will share with you the knowledge and usefulness of the plants. We will take our time for photo stops of places, waterfalls and viewpoints. A tasting of seasonal fruits with a cold drink will be offered to you on the second part of the crossing. The tour is done in good weather and in rainy weather.

5.00Clearly, this was the best excursion that we had during our 14 days in French Polynesia. We just been on a two week cruise and I had gone on several excursions. They were also wonderful but this was a level above that.Raniui was an exceptional guide. he provided nonstop entertainment. He had joked I think, that I was going to be his human sacrifice. He brought out a knife, had me stand next to a river, and hold my head up high to expose my neck. Luckily he was in a good mood that day. Before we made the trip we stopped at a café to pick up lunch sandwiches and pastries. This was very wise since up on the mountains you would not find anything similar.Raniui you can tell by his pictures and other reviews is a native Tahitian. He speaks his mind so be aware that he will not mince words. as was mentioned in other reviews, get ready for a rough ride. I would not recommend this if you have a bad back. Most of us stood the entire way, but enjoyed the scenery so much better. there is a tunnel that you also go through. You might get wet. Also, wearing comfortable water shoes would probably be of great benefit. When you stand on his cushions, you cannot wear shoes. The waterfall you stop at provided a nice cool down. It’s wise to bring water shoes and a swimsuit as you will be walking over rocks. Bring a towel so you can dry off afterwards and if you want to, you can change into comfortable shorts for the rest of the trip. We also saw eels in a river which he fed. Some of them about 6 feet long. I was wondering whether or not I could eat them for sushi! The comedy was almost nonstop. No wonder his excursion is so highly rated. Do yourself a favor and not miss this excursion. Hope this helps.

5.00If you want to see a taste of what Tahiti used to look like before all the foreign tropical plants were brought here and now dominate the lowlands, this trip will be interesting for you. Incredible views and good info provided about the culture and history. Rainui was great. Highly recommend.

5.00Guide was prompt, knowledgeable, and very helpful. The tour was off-road in a 4x4 through the interior valley of Tahiti Nui. An excellent way to spend the day.
Fantastic day trip across inland Tahiti. Lots of sights and history of Tahiti. It’s a must do with this guide.

5.00Guide was careful driving to ensure our safety, while still making it fun. Also stopping lots to take photos and hop out to enjoy the many sights. This is a part of Tahiti that you don’t usually get to see. If you get the opportunity this is the one to do, with stories on everything. Our guide did everything in French and English for everyone to enjoy.

5.00A unique opportunity that’s quite removed from the norm of tourist activity on Tahiti! While I imagine most visitors focus their time on events and activities on the coast and on the ocean, this tour offered the opportunity to get back into the very rugged mountains. More than that, the narrative provided by the owner, (and operator/driver) reached back into the history, tribes and culture of Tahiti. This tour is really really unique in every way, and I say that meaning in a positive way. It’s also unique in that they warn you that’s it’s going to be a rough ride. Believe it! This road wasn’t built by the “Ancient Ones” but you might suspect it was, and never maintained since. ;-) Have you ever seen some of those vigorous Mexican Senioritas dancing while excited guys were pounding out the beat with maracas rattles? Well, we spent eight hours in one of those maracas rattles! As I said, it’s a tour across the island and through the rugged volcanic valleys. Throughout the trip we were contained in a metal cage and I am quite sure we were traveling the ancient Polynesian "Road of Brutal Massage"! Our driver was very careful to go slow and drive safely but there was no escaping the rough nature of 4x4 jeeping across the island. If you have a bad back, arm in a sling or pinched nerve in your neck just Don’t Go! The ride would be brutally painful and there’s no turning back! Be aware that you will probably stand up most of the way in order to mitigate the jostling, and you will be hanging on with both hands. If your are fragile just send your loved ones on this unique journey and look forward to the pictures! Mountain valleys, deadly roads, beautiful waterfalls, ancient temples...and my body has been tenderized like a piece of tough lanky beef steak! It was beautiful. It was historic. It was scary at times. Some of our friends didn’t see a lot of it because they had their eyes closed! I’m not sure if it was out of fear or if they were praying? Same-Same I suppose. ;-) Take sunscreen for the ride, and both a bathing suit and towel, for the excellent waterfall and pool half way through the trip. Spoiler: Our guide teased quite a bit about ancient human sacrifice on the way up to the falls, so if you see him tossing carrots and potatoes into the pool before you get in you might want to head back to the truck! We wouldn’t have missed it for anything….and now to find a good chiropractor. If you are reading this then you are obviously the sort of person that searches out the unusual and, if so, you are going to love the trip!
