Rainbow Beach
The morning starts bright & early with our compulsory tour briefing at 7 am sharp at Freedom Hostel, to receive comprehensive information to prepare you for this exciting journey. Here you will be placed into groups and have the opportunity to organise luggage storage. You will also be taught how to drive safely on Fraser Island ahead of your big adventure! We aim to depart Freedom Hostel for K'gari (Fraser Island) by 8:30 am, which can take approximately 10 minutes to drive to the barge (ferry). The barge crossing is approximately 15 minutes, and during that time, you may be lucky enough to spot Dolphins or other marine life before arriving on the world’s largest sand island. Once you arrive, you’ll be traversing the eastern beach - K'gari's (Fraser Islands) own highway with speed limits! Settle in for the journey and enjoy the views as we head north along the beach before stopping for morning tea at one of the many freshwater creeks found on the island.
Maheno Ship Wreck
Enjoy a short stop at the Maheno Shipwreck where you can learn some history about this famous K'gari icon and grab photos of this well known wreck.
Eli Creek
We'll then visit Eli Creek, a beautifully clear creek which is perfect for a refreshing swim and walk along the boardwalks to take in the views. Let the gentle current float you along as you take in the beautiful scenery.

Central Station Rainforest
After breakfast, the adventure begins as we drive south to Eurong before heading inland through everchanging vegetation to the rainforest at Central Station. Here you’ll depart your vehicle and follow your guide for a walk alongside beautiful Wanggoolba Creek. Your guide will share the logging history of Central Station along with the indigenous significance of Wanggoolba Creek before sending you on a 1.8 km self-guided walk through the rainforest. You’ll reunite with your guide at the other end of the walk at Pile Valley where you’ll have morning tea surrounded by towering Satinay trees.
Lake McKenzie
From Pile Valley it’s a short drive to the famous Boorangoora (Lake McKenzie), arguably the most popular and picturesque highlight of K'gari (Fraser Island). Here, you can enjoy quality time lazing on the pristine sand beaches, swimming, and relaxing in the lake's stunning clear waters. We’ll then have lunch before packing up and returning to Eastern Beach.
Rainbow Beach
Once back on Eastern Beach we’ll head south to the barge (ferry). From Inskip Point, it’s only a short drive back into Rainbow Beach, where your adventure ends. We return to Freedom Rainbow Beach between 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm.

We had the best time ever with Dave on our 2 day tour! He made us all feel welcome and made us laugh all the way. The amount of knowledge he had about the island was amazing. Thank you so much Dingo Dave, we really enjoyed it.

Just returned from the 2 day trip & had a great time exploring the beautiful lakes & beaches of K’gari. As a non-driver, the experience was just as enjoyable as my friends who were driving (tip: if you’re with friends, try to allocate yourself to the same vehicle even as a non-driver, the briefing says you’ll all be swapping vehicles throughout the tour but we didn’t find this to be the case). Rhett was a great guide, incredibly knowledgeable, giving us a very much needed background of the island’s history while making sure we saw all the sights (the lakes and lazy river were a highlight!) including a few extras thanks to his great time keeping. Most importantly Rhett entertained us all with some amazing singing in the evening - bringing his own percussion instruments so we could all join in. We were well fed with food such as chicken wraps & steaks throughout the trip thanks to the preparation of the great catering team (note: you do cook & help out with the meals throughout the trip, but it’s very chill). To top it off, when we were stuck for a taxi back to our van, the lovely owner of the company dropped us back free of charge (tip for van drivers - there’s plenty of free parking by Freedom hostel you can make use of, we paid for a campsite for two nights to store the van but definitely not needed!) overall, couldn’t recommend this tour enough!

Big shout out to Rhett who made our K’gari tour extra special. He provided lots of island knowledge including the history of the indigenous people and all about the land. Night at the camp was also lots of fun, getting everyone involved with a singalong, lots of fun. Also thanks to the boss who drove us back after the tour when we couldn’t find a taxi! One improvement would be to allocate the right amount of food for group numbers as there was a lot of food waste.

Just back from a brilliant two day one night tour. Beautiful beaches, lakes and forests. The highlight was definitely our amazing tour guide Rhett who was so passionate and knowledgable about the island and the aboriginal culture… and put on a live music experience for us in the evening! A brilliant tour, would definitely recommend.

We had Rhett as our tour guide and he was awesome! He was so knowledgable and clearly had a passion for the nature and history of Australia. Also a special shoutout to the guy who runs this business (don’t know his name unfortunately!), but he very kindly gave my friends and I a lift back to our campsite after the tour as there were no taxis available. All in all, a great experience.

Had the best time on Frazier island with dingos! Wade was our guide and he was amazing! Answered all our stupid questions and made sure we were always fed and safe. Would recommended to everyone to try this tour the activities are amazing and you will meet wonderful people. We drove a manual car which was certainly an experience but switched to an automatic on our last day so got to try both. I went with a friend but could easily go solo as you meet so many people on the campsite.
