Lusaka isn’t the easiest city to explore, but this tour opens the door to its hidden gems. We’ll begin at the Manjarts Foundation, where you’ll meet the founder, learn about their inspiring community art projects, and even take part in a hands-on weaving workshop. From there, we’ll walk through the Helen Kaunda neighbourhood, taking in the daily rhythms of local life, before travelling as a local; hopping on a local bus along Alick Nkhata Road, an authentic Zambian experience in itself!
Next, we’ll stop at JCS Food Market, a bustling Chinese market where you’ll discover the history and influence of the Chinese community in Zambia while exploring unique foods and products. The tour ends at the famous Longacres Matebeto, where you’ll sit down to enjoy traditional hand-picked dishes like impwa and katapa in a lively, authentic setting.
Whether it’s your first visit to Lusaka or you’ve been before, this tour gives you a real taste of the city, its people, and its culture.

Our walking tour now begins at the Manjarts Foundation Museum, a creative space dedicated to promoting local art and supporting young people in the community. Here, you’ll meet the founder who will share the story behind the foundation and its impact. Guests will also get a chance to take part in a hands-on weaving workshop, an authentic experience that highlights the talent and culture of the community.
From Manjarts, our guide will lead you through Helen Kaunda, a lively local neighbourhood that offers a glimpse into everyday life in Lusaka. As we make our way toward Alick Nkhata Road, you’ll experience the sights and sounds of the community before hopping on a local bus to Longacres, just like the locals do.

We had a long layover, so visited Lusaka's museum and took on this afternoon tour. People are friendly, our guide is friendly and flexible - checking in with us frequently, accommodating our needs of water, toilet, skipping somewhere, finishing early, putting us on taxi safely and all that. We covered different parts of Lusaka, which is nice. Some parts are nice, quiet and even posh. Some experiences are quite original, food and settings might not be for everyone - we missed the evening market part, which is a shame. One traveller of our group was tired and just wanted to get back to the airport, which the guide helped.
