I had the pleasure of exploring the hidden pottery circuit in Tokoname, and it was such a memorable experience. Our guide, Issei-Touen, took the time to give a lots of information and made it feel anything but ordinary—his deep knowledge and genuine passion for Tokoname and its ceramic heritage brought every stop to life. He spoke excellent English, which made everything easy to follow, and he's even learning French, which was such a fun surprise! If you want to experience Tokoname’s pottery scene with someone who truly loves what he does, this tour is a fantastic choice.

Issei is a wonderful tour guide, who has a vast knowledge of Tokoname and the history of ceramics in general. As a an artist and potter himself, he has a unique understanding, he even takes you to his shop where you can see his amazing work. Tokoname is a beautiful area and has a rich history, with many amazing pottery pieces you can bring back, I highly recommend.
