Learn about the wonderful history of the Peruvian natives and how they used plants in their daily lives. On this tour, you will learn how they heal themselves without using pharmaceutical medications. You will also be able to enjoy a view full of flora and mountains. During the tour we will pass through impressive landscapes and immerse ourselves in the Andean culture and ways of life. This medicinal plant tour is unique because we focus on experiential tourism and ecotourism, and our tour will be guided by a native person who only She speaks the Quechua language accompanied by a guide, thus giving her the opportunity to learn about the local culture. Our interest is to preserve our culture and the use of medicinal plants in such a way as to also generate income for the surrounding communities.

We spent an enchanting half-day with Raul and his grandmother in their authentic village high above Pisac. Raul is a terrific guide, sharing his fascinating knowledge of local Inca culture and his own life story. We walked through the picturesque village, learning about medicinal plants, agriculture, religion and way of life. We warmly recommend this tour.

I highly recommend the local village tour guided by Raul. His lovely grandmother joined us and shared fascinating insights about their culture, local plants, and the wildlife in the area. We appreciated that Raul was able to take us off the beaten track (suggesting options beyond the handful of sites which are always visiting on tours), customise experiences upon request, and suggest transportation options suited to all budgets, from private taxis to accompanying guests on public transport. He is multi-lingual, speaking English, Spanish, and Quechua, and he is able to share myths and traditions across languages and cultures.

Raul the guide was great and professional :) He took us on a fascinating tour with his personal story and that of his family, and following the ancient tradition of the Incas… While touring the mountains with his lovely grandmother, he taught us about the medicinal plants in the area and their properties. About the way they lived once and until today… In short, it was fascinating. I don't want to elaborate too much so as not to spoil the experience :)

Raul was such a friendly and professional guide as he provided a very special tour of his grandmother's village above Pisac. He clearly communicated all of the details in advance and shared so much fascinating information throughout the tour. We felt so welcome in their village and the land was so breathtaking. Raul made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. I would highly recommend a tour with Raul as your guide!

Raul is the owner and operator of tours for this company and his tours are exceptional. We toured many areas with him, including Machu Picchu and Cusco, but my favorite tour by far was the personal tour of his village near Pesac. We met his grandmother and walked the lands to learn about Peruvian farming, local medicinal herbs, and the challenges of terrace farming and climate change. Raul is a wealth of knowledge and speaks excellent English. He is trustworthy, kind and very kind! I highly recommend him for your adventures in Peru!
