Andres was wonderful, courteous and knowledgeable about bourbon and relaying the history of Papiamento history. We loved hearing about where it began and what plans they have for the future. I would highly recommend a visit. We are looking forward to the hotel they plan to open next year for a repeat visit.

From the moment we met Franz, we knew this was going to be something special. He radiates calm, kindness, and a quiet joy that instantly makes you feel at home. Always attentive, always available — the kind of host who makes everything feel effortless. The Distillery Experience Bodegas Papiamento is a magical place where you can see the full process of how their rum is made — from copper stills to the final bottle. The distillery itself breathes good energy. You can feel the craftsmanship and passion behind every detail. From the bar, you can watch the distilling process through the glass wall — it’s fascinating to see how each bottle comes to life while you sip a cocktail or enjoy something delicious. It’s not just a visit; it’s an experience that engages all your senses. There’s also a cozy lounge designed like giant rum barrels where you can sit, relax, and enjoy a drink or a cigar. It feels like being inside the spirit of the island itself — warm, welcoming, and full of character. The Blue House — Their Private Guest Home for Rent We also had the chance to stay at Franz’s beautiful guest house, located right next to the distillery. It’s available for rent and it’s truly a hidden oasis in Aruba. The house is surrounded by tropical plants, full of light, and designed with love and care in every corner.

This experience was informative. Everyone was very friendly. They even allowed us to enter prior to opening, so we would not have to stand outside.. The only thing I did not like was the area to purchase certain items did not open until 1:00 but our tour was at 11:00 I would have loved to been able to purchase some cigars. Maybe they can mail some to me or the next time I’m in Aruba I will have the chance to purchase.

The distillery is amazing! Rum is of the highest quality. The place is fun, to me the best place to drink and eat in Aruba with your friends. Including the best cigar store in town.

We celebrated my husband's birthday over the weekend, and everything was spectacular. The servers and staff provided the best service to our guests, and everyone was very happy. The food and drinks were also wonderful, making it an unforgettable celebration. Highly recommended for any event. Thank you!

Great little place just off the main street in Oranjestad. Very cozy, modern and warm decor with dark woods, wrought iron, heavy glass and subdued lighting. We did a rum tasting and were taken through not just the story of their excellent craft rums, but also the history of Aruba. Our host, Andres, was very friendly and informative and made us a couple of amazing cocktails after the tasting. This place is highly recommended for a fun and informative, comfortable experience that is unique compared to the other downtown options.

Excellent tour. The atmosphere was amazing and the service espectacular. The rums they have are amazing. Some of them are not for sale anywhere else
