In the heart of the reserve, where nature's rhythm beats strongest, lies the Caiman Lodge. Perfectly poised near the ethereal Laguna Grande, this haven is accessible by canoe throughout the year, irrespective of the season's whims. Nestled amidst the verdant embrace of the jungle, the lodge offers sanctuary for up to 40 souls, with three distinct huts, each thoughtfully designed with 2 to 4 rooms, catering to both double and triple accommodations. Every room whispers tales of the forest outside, complete with the comforts of a private bathroom and shower. As the day wanes, guests might find solace in the hammock area or ascend the lodge's magnificent seven-story tower. From its pinnacle, the vast expanse of the lagoon and the jungle unfurls, a sight to stir the very soul. And as you traverse this realm, the guidance of our accredited naturalist and skilled canoe driver ensures that every secret of the land is tenderly revealed.

Day 1: We will meet at Lago Agrio between 8:00 am and 9:00 am, where we will take our private Caiman transportation to the entrance of the Cuyabeno Reserve. 2 hours of travel approx. At this point, visitors must register at the Reserve office where we will have a brief chat with our naturalist guide in which they will give them information about the Cuyabeno Reserve, important recommendations and other tips to start the two-hour canoe trip through the Cuyabeno River to Caiman Lodge. During the canoe trip you will be able to enjoy the wonderful flora and fauna found in the jungle. You can also see some of the 10 species of monkeys, birds and other animals in the jungle, depending on the weather and weather conditions We will arrive at Caiman Lodge around 1:30 pm

Day 2: Breakfast 7:00 am 8:00 am We will take our rowing canoes and head to our Caimancocha trail, we will have a walk in the primary forest of approximately 3 hours, On this trail our guide will explain about the ecology of the Amazon jungle, medicinal plants, a variety of animals and interactions of the ecosystems with the greatest biodiversity on Earth. 1:30 pm, we will return to our Lodge. Lunch We will take a rest in the amahacas or rooms. 4:30 pm We will take a tour in our Catamaran, with ease to relax, observe a variety of animals, pink dolphins, monkeys. We will swim and watch the fantastic sunset. 7:30 pm Dinner

Day 3: 6:00 am We will meet at our Cayman Meeting Point. We will go to our Great Cayman Bird Tower, to see a variety of birds and the beautiful sunrise, accompanied by a delicious coffee. 8:00 am. Breakfast 9:00 am We will go downriver towards the Siona Community of Puerto Bolívar, a journey of approximately 1:30 minutes and there we will be received by one of the native women who will take us to the cassava plantation to harvest cassava and with our help we will show the preparation of one of their traditional foods, casabe (Yuca flatbread). Immediately after this, the guide will introduce you to one of the last 4 Shamans of the Siona tribe in Ecuador. In addition, we will find one of the largest trees in Ecuador, the Ceibo, where we can take photos and hug this tree to have many good energies. Lunch – Lunch We will return to the Lodge in the afternoon and we can go to the Laguna Grande at sunset, swim and return to the Lodge 4:00 pm Return to the Cayman.

Day 4: 5:30 am We will take a tour to observe the sunrise and a variety of birds. 8:00 a.m. We will have breakfast at the hotel and prepare for the return at 9:30 a.m. to the Cuyabeno bridge where we will have a Box Lunch and then they will be picked up by our private bus that will take them to Lago Agrio so they can return to Quito either by bus or plane.

5.00We had a brilliant 4-day stay at caiman ecolodge and we booked everything through Carpedm which was really easy to do. Dorian and Paul were really responsive to my emails and answered all my questions, thank you! We also booked the bus from Quito to Lago Agrio with Carpedm as well and would definitely recommend this as it ran really smoothly and we were dropped at the location where the bus taking us to Cuyabeno Bridge was picking us up. Would definitely recommend Caiman Ecolodge as all the guides and staff were brilliant and we saw so much wildlife! Thank you for organising this trip Carpedm!

5.00One of the best trips ever! David was the most knowledgeable, energetic, and fun guide. Truly an unforgettable experience. Loved the animals and learned so much. Cuyabeno is a must see! Would highly recommend this lodge too for its hospitable staff, organization, and good food.

5.00Unbelievable experience from learning about the eco systems to finding so much life everywhere - from plants to insects to birds and monkeys and even piranha! Jairo our guide was phenomenal and the staff at the caiman eco lodge were fantastic! As a vegetarian solo woman traveler I was in good hands all the way! Highly highly recommend it

5.00The state of emergency in force in the country meant that we traveled by road safely from Quito to Lago Agrio, and then to the bridge at the entrance to the nature reserve from where we were transported to at the Caiman Lodge in a canoe. Two hours of journey in a sublime setting, and once in the reserve, a magnificent lake (although the rain was missed), pink dolphins in the rivers, paiches, snakes, monkeys, caimans, Hoatzins and other birds of great beauty, a horde of peccaries, etc., thanks to Jairo, our guide and great connoisseur of the jungle. The lodge is very beautiful, clean, comfortable, its cook is excellent, all the staff are helpful, kind and attentive to our needs. We hope to return to this place and this lodge soon. Thank you to the entire Caiman Lodge team!

5.00THE best Amazon experience you could ask for. I have also been to the Amazon, entering in Iquitos, Peru. Caiman Eco-lodge is another level. Dave, our guide, is dynamite and anyone who gets him will not regret their experience. The cabins, day plans, food and organization are 5/5. Paul and Dorian helped with everything, promptly responding to any requests and have your interests in mind- they're not trying to upgrade or sell you a product. I've been backpacking for 15+ years and this company is the best I have come across. (This trip took place prior to COVID).

5.00I went to Ecuador & Galapagos in the beginning of March 2020. Corona was far away and in Europe still in the very beginning. I started my trip in Quito and spent the first day 'shopping' for daytours like Amazone and off course Galapagos. My last stop was Carpe DM and that was the best partner for me. They offer good prices, the staff is really friendly, patientle, helpful and professional, and they offer all kind of great tours. I booked the following tours with them: 1) Free Walking Tour: you should do this! It is very entertaining, even when you have a jet lag. Very good info and professional guide! 2) Amazone trip (Caiman Lodge): everything is arranged from A to Z. Perfect location, very professional guide and the surrounding is amazing! 3) Quilotoa Lake: first it didn't seem possible to book this tour on the day I wanted (I wanted to go on a day without visiting markets). But they've made some calls around to find more travellers willing to go an that specific day, while I was in the Amazone, and it worked out with a group of 4 persons! Super! 4) Galapagos: Dorian was a big help finding the right cruise for me. Very patient, explained all details and providing me good advice. Also with the flight tickets! Unfortunately, the cruise was cancelled due to Corona and he informed me immediately. Because this was a unique situation, I will never forget it. All the people living in Ecuador are so nice and willing to help, but in this time I needed it more than ever. Information on shutting down tours and eventually the country was very mixed. The border was closing and I needed to get home safely. I did luckily, but I paid the Galapagos cruise which is a big part of my trip and coul never enjoy it. CarpeDM did everything they could to transfer the money back and it worked out well! Even though they didn't know if they would receive a refun fromd the cruise operators. Besides the refund they took great care of, I would directely go back to CarpeDM and book the Galapgos trip once I go back to Ecuador. They are so friendly, willing to think with you and professional, wouldn't spend time on any other operator! I've been travelling around for quite some years, so that says a lot! Thank you Paul, Dorian and all other staff! Stay safe & healthy!

5.00Really good trip. Guide was excellent - very knowledgeable and was able to answer all questions (and he was entertaining also). Saw lots of wildlife - particularly enjoyed the night walk. It was beautiful falling asleep to the sounds of the rainforest each night.

4.00Everything was really well organized! We got our own private room in a beautiful resort. The food was really good, although the chefs didn't understand that we were vegetarians.
