Experience the DMZ in a small group of up to 15 travelers in a comfortable mini-bus or van. With fewer participants, you’ll have more opportunities to ask questions and interact directly with your guide. This creates a more personal and immersive experience than large bus tours.
Real escape and crossing cases—explained at the DMZ
This tour focuses on real incidents, not general explanations.
Instead of broad history, you’ll hear specific events that happened at the JSA.
• A U.S. soldier who crossed into North Korea
• A North Korean soldier who escaped under gunfire
With real footage and visual materials, you’ll understand what actually happened step by step.
You will visit all the key highlights of DMZ including 3rd Tunnel, Dora Observatory and the closest accessible location related to the JSA—the Panmunjom Visitor Center (outside explanation only).
Please note:
This tour does not enter the JSA or Panmunjom. It focuses on explaining real cases connected to the JSA.
Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller
Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries
Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
Guests must bring and keep a valid passport for DMZ entrance
The DMZ is a military area and might be closed suddenly without any notice on the day. If it happens, an alternative tour will be provided (Alternative. Odusan Observatory and Korean War Memorial Museum)
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
Imjingak Pyeonghoa-Nuri Park
Imjingak Peace Park is the symbolic gateway to the DMZ and a place that offers deep insight into the Korean War. Here, you’ll see important historical sites such as the Freedom Bridge—once used by around 13,000 refugees seeking freedom—as well as Mangbaedan, where North Korean defectors pay tribute to their hometowns. You’ll also view the Jangdan Station steam locomotive, which was used to transport military supplies during the war.
Freedom Bridge is a historic bridge located in Imjingak, built after the Korean War. It was used by prisoners of war returning to South Korea during the armistice period. The name “Freedom Bridge” reflects their return from captivity. Today, the bridge remains as a symbol of the division of Korea and the events that followed the war.

Bill was an amazing guide and was able to explain areas of the DMZ with great fluency. We were in small group making us 5 people along with Bill. It meant we could get around faster. The tour started at 6am and finished at around 2pm. Packed day but worth it!

Our tour guide Bill Hwang and our driver Mr Kim were excellent. He knew all of the details of the DMZ and he kept things moving along so well. Unlike some other guides, he went with us in all parts of the tour, even doing the intense journey through Tunnel 3. We also had the pleasure of doing the tour in a smaller group which made it more interesting than the giant groups we saw. And finally Mr Hwang is an excellent photographer and regularly asked if he could take photos for us!

Cool was a very friendly guide who managed to provide us with a lot of interesting explanations. We had booked for the small group tour of up to 10 people and with us 5 we were alone, so we actually had a private tour. Cool also brought a lot of photo material to support the explanation.
