Join us at Vallholt, nestled between Akureyri and Lake Mývatn in North Iceland, for an unforgettable dry land dog cart tour through our stunning landscapes. Experience the thrill of riding with our team of 8-12 Siberian Husky dogs, guided by an experienced Musher from Snow Dogs Iceland. Let the huskies lead the way on a 3-4 km trail in our remote Icelandic nature, embracing a bit of bumpy fun along the way. Learn the secrets of dog sledding and how to work with these incredible dogs in summer conditions from your knowledgeable Musher. The approximately 3-4 km trail takes 20-30 minutes, followed by an exclusive kennel visit where you can meet, greet, and cuddle our amazing dogs! Total visit time is approximately 1.5 hours. Capture memorable moments and take snapshots of our adorable huskies, seizing this unique chance to witness our sled dogs' summer training process firsthand. Max weight of guest is 90 kg.

It was absolutly amazing! Everybody should do this experience once in a life. Exactly at this place. They were so friendly, the dogs are so happy there! Ingó was extremly funny and we were so connected 🫶🏼. A-team!! Greetings from the germans from Stuttgart 🤩

Like other reviews, we cannot recommend this highly enough. Sæmundur & Bergþóra were lovely - explaining everything clearly, and their love for the dogs shows. The huskies themselves are delightful, so friendly and adorable! The experience across the frozen lake was awesome. A real must do in Northern Iceland.

My wife and I visited on November 24th. We strongly recommend you give this a go. It was amazing. We were picked up from our hotel in Akureyri by the awesome “Ingo” who took us to the venue. We were made to feel so welcome. Sæmundur & Bergþóra were great hosts and issued us with everything we needed. The dogs were so friendly and happy and it’s plain to see just how well they are cared for and loved by all involved. They were so excited and couldn’t wait to start pulling the sleds. Sledding across the frozen lake was simply stunning with amazing views to be had and Sæmundur gave us both a chance to stand on the back and drive ! We had lots of time to spend with the huskies after we had sled and got a great tour of the kennels etc. After we left, Ingo took us on a scenic route back to Akureyi and showed us some waterfalls, the other side of the fjord and his farm. Such a nice guy with perfect English. Even introduced us to music by Kaleo! We loved it and downloaded it. If you go to Iceland…you must book with snowdogs. One of the highlights for us. Worth every penny. Thanks to everyone involved for a very memorable experience. Kate & Dan , suffolk, uk.

I’m a dog professional (behaviorist l/trainer) and the first thing I noticed is there were no dogs barking when we pulled up. Then when we entered the facility, again, not one dog barked when they saw us! They were 33 of the most calm, balanced and friendly dogs I’ve ever met in my life!! Sami the owner was such an informative and inspirational individual I couldn’t be happier with our experience on the trail with these guys!

I can't quite put into words how special today was . The staff and dogs are outstanding. If it's the only paid thing you do in Iceland do this. great thanks to a very kind Ragnor . We are coming back soon. x

Trip was flawless. Scenery absolutely surreal. Dogs not only friendly but also so fluffy to cuddle 🥰. 100% recommend. Family and children friendly.

We were a group of five adults, on two separate sleds. The guides/owners were great. They provided snow suits and anything else needed, like gloves and hats. You get to meet the dogs before they take you on the sled ride. My Aunts are both scared of dogs, but they loved this part, as the dogs were fairly calm and playful. The ride itself was very beautiful and peaceful! Definitely a must if you are in the area!
Anyone travelling in Northern Iceland should definitely visit the Snow Dogs

We were guests at Bergþóra and her great Huskies in September 2024. We can fully agree with the very good reviews here, especially since we were also very lucky with the weather during our ride through a great landscape. The dogs are just great fun and the explanations were very exciting. It's also amazing that these Icelandic huskies also seem to like eating fish. Should we come to the north of Iceland again, we will definitely do another tour with the Snow Dogs. A clear recommendation for all travelers to Northern Iceland. We had a dog sled on snow, and from the moment we arrived it was a fabulous experience, friendly warm welcome, happy dogs everywhere, great facilities. The dogs were so excited to be off sledding. I’d highly recommend!
