Douala is the largest city in Cameroon but also the economic capital of the country. It is located in the coastal region which is an asset to discover the coastal region and its seaside tourism.
Douala is full of activities, and apart from business tourism, Douala’s main tourist attractions are its monuments inherited from the colonial era, as well as its many markets.
Douala is a sprawling city, populated by more than two million inhabitants spread over 6 town halls and 120 neighbourhoods, where traffic is dense, if not impossible, and which gives off tremendous energy from the diversity of ethnic groups living there. What strikes Douala is the impression of perpetual movement, day and night.
Although Yaoundé is the political capital, Douala remains the main destination for all businessmen and tourists.

1.00Take any other choice than this! Journey has 6 objectives including 1 closed on Sunday, at the 2nd (museum) you had to pay a little extra attention to make the visit, could not visit the cathedral because Mass (bad time planning), let's go to an art gallery but in fact it is a thrift store, there is a stop planned for an hour 😲 at the fish market (to do what?), the flower market is actually a poorly lit craft market (maze). The driver drives at 20 km/h to stretch the time, while the city is deserted on a Sunday morning, the guide had the decency to adjust the route according to my local friend who added to the route the statue of independence, the stadium mbappe, breweries, a university, the airport, some local shops for local products, the Institut français emblematique pour la vie culturelle of Douala, etc.. At least it was a private tour, but free of knowledge about the history of important places in the city. The guide, francophone only, did not know the city, arrived 45 minutes late at the pick-up point, she expected me to pay her lunch and we finished the tour 1 hour before the scheduled time. Travelers used to audio guide content, you will stay hungry. It's worth the bus ride (air-conditioned with meals, wifi and music) to visit this beautiful city for its economical, cultural, active life and nature (parks and beach to which the guide did not even refer). Good visit 🙂

5.00Unforgettable visit to see the chimpanzees in their natural environment. Observing their behavior from only a few meters away and without bars is a magnificent thing. The deserted white sandy beach of the lake is also worth a visit Thank you for organizing this beautiful day, we left with stars in our eyes
