5.00The cruise was educational and interesting. It was very windy during part of the cruise which made standing outside both exciting and scary. It was very different from the Milford Sound cruise so if you can, do both of them.

4.00Loved the trip. Its amazing scenery. Staff and guides were great. The only part that needs improvement is the waiting between the boat and bus. (Both times) Everyone is standing in a shed just waiting for 10 mins? Yes there is some displays to view. But very few. And no where near enough seating for the people waiting.
Don’t limit yourself to only doing Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound arguably better

5.00Great day, beautiful scenery, with waterfalls a plenty due to the rain. The weather didn’t spoil the trip at all. We had a perfect sunny day at Milford Sound, so having a wet and cooler day made Doubtful Sound all the better

5.00Initially I thought the price a bit on the high side. Having done the trip to Doubtful Sound I would pay it again. We felt like we were family and made very welcome. Very worth the money.

5.00While expensive, it was worth every penny to see Doubtful Sound. It is quite a long day but with the breakup between the two boats and the bus transfers, it goes a by fast. Some beautiful views along the bus route as you head into Doubtful Sound itself.

5.00A unique experience you won't easily forget. One of the most beautiful places on earth. Definitely go there if you're in New Zealand.
Place was okay, nowhere near as pretty as Milford, and a very long day.

3.00I did not find this trip very fun. Milford Sound is astoundingly beautiful - the drive, the sound, and even the parking lot offer dramatic views. Doubtful Sound is tame so getting up early and spending all day wasn't as fun as I had hoped after reading all the reviews. The tour company, RealNZ, was great, no real issues. The boat across Lake Manapouri was fine - a few distant mountain views. The bus ride gave a view and a close up of the dense forest, but was mostly just a bus. The sound boat was fine, but nothing very dramatic - just green hills with occasional peak-a-boo mountain views and not many falls because it's all pretty gentle slopes. The end at Tasman Sea was rough but there were waves crashing against rocks and penguins and seals, so that was neat. Then it was all done in reverse. It never felt remote nor rugged with a school camp and powerlines all over and a hydroelectric dam. I wish we had gone elsewhere, but you can't know until you go.

3.00The route was good and the boat well equipped. Overall, however, everything was too loud and not appropriate for the place. Constant loud comments about tinny loudspeakers (and also difficult to understand) and the machines usually at high speed. Full 5 minutes silence on the whole tour. It's too bad.
