5.00This tour was perhaps the best part of our entire vacation. The Douro Valley itself is stunning but Timur made the day extra special with a beautiful ride, fun conversation, an outstanding recommendation for lunch and a beautiful river cruise. The winery and port house visits were perfectly chosen and we loved every second. Thank you Timur for an amazing experience!

5.00From the moment we got in the car (comfortable, smooth ride — not the white-knuckle kind), it was clear we were in expert hands. Jose’s wine education background turned every stop into a masterclass without ever feeling like homework. The first small winery? Charming, warm, and welcoming — the kind of place that makes you want to cancel your return flight. Lunch at the Michelin-starred restaurant by the river was straight out of a storybook. Do yourself a favor: upgrade the lunch. Future-you will thank you. Worth every cent and then some. The river cruise was stunning, the additional winery tastings were fantastic, and the final private tasting was the cherry on top — equal parts wine education, insider knowledge, and nonstop laughter. I learned so much about wine that I genuinely didn’t know… while laughing the entire time. Bottom line: incredible wine, breathtaking views, perfect pacing, and a guide who makes the day unforgettable. If Jose’s available — book him. If you’re on the fence — don’t be.

5.00Timur was our guide for both the Porto Highlights and the Douro Valley tours. How lucky were we! Not only did Timur introduce us to the highlights of the city & the Douro Valley, he shared inside perspectives of the culture & its history. He added another depth to the sights we visited. An example was our visit to the famous Train Station. Timur made the tile murals “come to life” in terms of better understanding the history of Porto and the region. He introduced us to the Porto coastal town of Matosinhos. Not to be missed! Be sure to have a seafood meal in the area. Our visit to the Douro Valley was beautiful, despite it being rainy day. All said, Timur is the best!

5.00We had an amazing day touring the Douro Valley. Timur was an excellent guide and incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. The wineries he picked were beautiful with great selections of wines and port. Lunch was at an elevated restaurant along the river. It was truly a 5-star experience and I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Porto and/or the Douro Valley.

5.00This was an amazing and special day! Timur is very professional, organized, and had planned the perfect day for our overview of the Valley. His car is clean and comfortable and he is very educated and informative. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Timur is very knowledgeable about the Valley and the wine producers and he arranges wonderful private experiences as requested.

5.00Timur is a great guide! He was very responsive in his communications prior to the tour and during. He made the trip to the Douro valley seamless and perfect with all the plans perfect for our needs. His recommendation for a winery/olive oil maker was perfect as well as a vineyard to introduce us to port wine. In addition, the lunch recommendation was superb. His Mercedes van was clean and comfortable and his driving on the crazy, windy roads was very good. I highly recommend him for a tour!

5.00Our day with Timur has been the highlight of our time in Portugal. Everything was first rate. Timur was a joy to be with. His knowledge of wine and port is extensive and he is an excellent communicator. We had many interesting conversations. Our tastings were excellent, ranging from a small fourth generation family run winery (excellent) to the Sandeman Quinta do Seixa. Lunch was the best meal out we have had in our time here. Everything about it was excellent. I can recommend spending a day with Timur without reservation.

5.00I recently engaged Nomad Steps to take me from Porto to Lisbon on a day-long guided tour with stops at Fatima, a sacred pilgrimage site, and Obidos, an enchanting medieval village. They did not disappoint! From my on-time pickup to my arrival in Lisbon, Timur, my guide and driver, was professional, pleasant and extremely knowledgeable. Throughout the day, it was clear that he's intellectually curious and loves sharing his knowledge with others. I would highly recommend Nomad Steps and Timur for your next Portugal adventure!

5.00Timur provided an excellent tour right from the start. He provided a well adversed tour full of history and great sightseeing. He accommodated and trailered the trip to the needs of the group.
