Escape the crowds and enter the private world of the Douro. While most tours take you to crowded commercial cellars, we open doors that are closed to the general public. You will not just visit a "Quinta"; you will be invited to a private lunch at our 14th-century Solar and you will have the opportunity to talk about wines with Teresa, owner of a boutique producer, while they taste their best harvests.
Guided by two local brothers, this experience focuses on authentic connection and not just seeing monuments. You’ll travel in a premium Mercedes wagon, sail the river in a traditional boat with Porto wine in hand and discover the “liquid gold” of the Truta family in their handmade olive oil lagar.

5.00I cannot recommend the Bambuti Experience enough! Ruben was so personable and helped all the couples connect easily on our winding trip the the Douro Valley! He even had a cake prepared for my birthday at our family-style lunch which was such a special surprise. The boat cruise was gorgeous, the wine tasting was spectacular, as was the short stop at the olive oil production center. We ate like kings and queens, and the wine never seemed to stop pouring! This is an incredible value and I would recommend this to any friend or family member who wants to explore the Douro Valley without the hassle of planning it all yourself!

5.00Ruben was our sympathetic day guide. We visited a beautiful port house, while enjoying a fresh snack and delicious drink sailed a bit over the Douro, had lunch on a paradise mountaintop and ended at a local olive producer. Was an unforgettable day with two (brother Rodrigo also joined with his group) very friendly and enthusiastic hosts and drivers. Recommended!

5.00Great experience. Very good guide. Good insight into local wine and port wine production with tastings. Very good lunch in a beautiful villa, followed by insights into olive oil and schnapps production. One should leave space in the luggage for souvenirs (wine, port wine, olive oil, etc.).

5.00Definitely a unique tour operator in the Douro Valley! When I was researching tour companies for a day trip into Douro from Porto, I was put off by how commercial and templated so many of them were. Everybody seemed to be offering the exact same itinerary and I was worried I would be doing something crowded. I wanted to avoid anything that felt like an industrial tourist trap. I found Bambuti after searching around online. I emailed them and got a quick response describing what the day tour included, with emphasis that these are local guys who made an effort to take guests to more local and genuine places. I liked the story and approach so I booked, and am glad that I did. I was accompanied by Ruben, who was a great tour guide and someone to chat with throughout the day on all things Douro and Portugal. He’s indeed a true valley local and knew everyone in town. Highlights of the tour for me were the inclusion of an olive oil production tour (something that seemed unique to Bambuti’s tour) and the estate that the lunch is served on. Really good meal, cool vibe at the estate, and really nice to walk along the property. It was cherry season so we got to pluck fresh cherries from the tree and enjoy them. From a logistics standpoint, they pick up and drop you off at your hotel in Porto, couldn’t have been easier. I recommend you consult with Bambuti if you plan to visit the Douro Valley during your Porto stay. I’ll definitely remember these people after my trip!

5.00Everything about the day was perfect, from start to finish. The tour lasted the entire day and our guide, owner Ruben, was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the region and the service offered, which included a short boat trip on the Douro river, a fantastic, insightful wine tasting at the Qta.Sta.Eufemia vineyard and a tour of a local olive oil factory. Once again we sampled the product along with some local aguardiente and my favorite cafe liquor, all made on site. The highlight of the day however was the excellent lunch laid out in a beautiful Quinta overlooking the Douro valley.

5.00We had the most amazing time on our trip with Rodrigo and Rueben. They brought us to multiple vineyards throughout the Douro Valley, on a wonderful boat ride, and to their hometown for a delicious lunch. They made us feel like part of the family and were extremely insightful about the region, its history and the wine making process. The wine was delicious, the views were stunning, and the company was top notch. They made us feel comfortable from the start of the day, picking us up at our hotel and guiding us throughout the tour. They were attentive and able to provide anything we requested. It was the best way to celebrate our anniversary! Bambuti tours is amazing and we recommend them to everyone that is looking to make the most out of their trip. We hope to be back to do it again soon. -Jake and Mariah

5.00We had such a wonderful time with Rodolfo on the day long wine tour. He was friendly, accommodating, and an excellent driver, which was important on the curvy roads. Rodolfo went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful day. The lunch out in the countryside was superb and the countryside was beautiful. I would highly recommend this tour.

5.00We had a great time with Rodrigo touring a few wineries. We were served an outstanding meal in a private home with the cutest grandmother. Afterwards we stomped grapes and ate grey honey from another farm. Full fun day for sure
