Our day starts with a pick up at your accommodation in Porto or somewhere in the Douro Valley at 8:30am or 9:30am. During the day, you will have the wonderful opportunity to savor several Douro DOC and Port wines with commented tastings, a 50-minute boat ride at the small village of Pinhão, and a three-course meal with wines.
It's now time to stop at the famous Pinhão railway station and enjoy some breathtaking landscapes. Relax: the time is all yours! Have an innovative perspective of this region’s history, culture, and gastronomy, while strolling through the vineyards where the finest wines from the “Quintas” (Wine Estates) are produced. A memorable experience!
Have some time to admire the viewpoints and take group pictures – the Douro Region is truly overwhelming! At the end of this adventurous day, rest on a gentle drive to Porto, where we will drop you off comfortably at your accommodation at around 7:30 pm.

5.00Our day with Alfredo was a gem! He was punctual, professional, very knowledgeable, extremely friendly, personable, open, a fantastic driver and travel guide. It is clear that Alfredo has nurtured genuine relationships over many years with the owners and staff at the select locations he took us to. We were taken to beautiful locations, treated to an exquisite meal (honestly the BEST meal we’ve had in Portugal to date) and met with gracious winemakers who shared their passion for their craft. Our time and money were well spent on this day trip and we would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience the beauty and deliciousness (food and wine) that the Douro Valley has to offer.

Alfredo arrived promptly at our hotel in an immaculate Mercedes, immediately setting the tone for the level of comfort, elegance, and professionalism that continued throughout the day. During the scenic drive from Porto to the Douro Valley, he shared fascinating insights into the region’s rich history, winemaking heritage, and local culture. His knowledge, warmth, and polished service elevated the entire journey. We visited three stunning vineyards, each offering its own distinct character, exceptional wines, and spectacular panoramic views across the valley. Every stop felt thoughtfully selected and beautifully curated. A particular highlight was an exquisite three-course lunch paired with outstanding wines in a breathtaking vineyard setting—an experience that perfectly captured the sophistication and charm of the Douro. The private boat cruise along the Douro River was the ideal finale, allowing us to relax in complete serenity while taking in the magnificent landscape from the water. From start to finish, the day was seamless, indulgent, and unforgettable. He chose excellent wineries to sample and a wonderful meal for us to experience in addition to the river ride. His career includes hospitality and it shows. Great day overall and I highly recommend!

5.00We truly had the most amazing day with Alfredo. He put together such a personalized, comprehensive itinerary. We got a taste for many sides of Portugal’s rich wine culture from the smaller, family run winery to the larger establishments all with a boat tour to break up the day. Alfredo is simply a gem & full of knowledge. Cannot recommend enough!!

Alfredo has a wealth of knowledge about the history of the Douro Valley (and how it fits into the wider history of Portugal), the wines of the region, and winemaking in general. The stops on his tour did a great job of showing the variety of business ventures in the Douro Valley, from small, family-owned operations to larger-scale ones, all of which make great wines and pay homage to the history of the region. My wife and I greatly enjoyed his tour and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Porto--regardless of your aptitude for wine. Thanks again Alfredo!
The best day of our entire trip!

5.00We were traveling with another couple, and our day began with Alfredo picking us up at our hotel. His van was immaculate and he was an excellent driver. We traveled to Douro Valley in absolute comfort, and Alfredo provided commentary on history, geography, wine making, grape varieties, and answered all of our questions. The wineries he had chosen for us were a perfect mix. The first was a small, family owned vineyard. Luis was a great host and provided a fabulous tour and tasting. The next stop was a larger family owned vineyard with a totally different feel, just as wonderful and delicious. We had a beautiful lunch, then headed to the river for a boat ride down the Douro. It was absolutely breathtaking. The last stop was a beautiful winery with absolutely fabulous views. The ride back to the hotel was a bit quieter because we were all exhausted, but Alfredo was attentive and delivered us to our hotel safely. This day trip was definitely the highlight of our trip. We would highly recommend Alfredo and his company for anyone wanting a full day of fun!
Perfect day in the Douro Valley

5.00We had a perfect day exploring the Douro Valley with Alfredo. We were in Porto for 6 days, but decided to take a day trip into the Valley. He picked us up right from our hotel at 8:30am and we arrived back just before 8pm. The drive out was very pleasant and we talked a lot about port, Porto, Portugal, wine, etc. It was lovely! Our first stop was at a smaller, family-run vineyard where we got a tour and tasting with the wonderful owner, Luis. He was so knowledgable and friendly. The wine and port were fantastic and we especially loved the cheese pairings. The second stop was to a larger, more popular vineyard where we saw some larger groups. However, Alfredo arranged for a small, beautiful spot for us in a garden area to enjoy our tasting. He also toured us to the grape stomping area and taught us more about the process. Our lunch was at this vineyard and was spectacular! And of course more wine and port! After lunch we went on a one hour boat ride along the River, which was beautiful. You can imagine what a full week river cruise would be like with such beauty. Our final stop was at a vineyard with the best view. We sat out in the garden overlooking the Duoro River and vineyards; it was a gorgeous stop to end our day. Overall, this was a fantastic tour and worth every penny. Alfredo is kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable, professional, and a pleasure to spend the day with. He mentioned he does other areas of Portugal and that all tours are customizable. We would highly, highly recommend him!
