This Downtown Culinary Tour is provided by CHARLESTON CULINARY TOURS, the longest-running food tour company in Charleston. Visit four food establishments on this 2.5-hour tour that combines elements of a historical tour with a culinary adventure! Learn about Charleston's history as you enjoy tastings of traditional favorites and contemporary innovations, all of which highlight the cuisine of locally-owned restaurants. Insight into Lowcountry cuisine accompanies the broad range of samples on your food tour. This is our original tour around the French Quarter and City Market and focuses on the traditional flavors of the region.

Kyle is a Charleston force. His passion for history is so obvious. Despite only being in the area for a few years, his intelligence and quest for history is incredible. He even talked of meeting frequently with other tour guides to delve further in the local history. His light hearted, fun approach to the tour was a breath of fresh air. May I say, he is quite easy on the eyes as well. Kyle, marry that girl, she has to be amazing to keep your wandering, inquisitive soul in one place for this long. There was no question that he couldn't answer and has a fun, laid back, unique story telling skill. Despite being quite thin and fit, he does know his food. He took us to 5 different restaurants and treated us to all local favorite foods. It was nice to try things that you can come back to order. He even stopped by the last stop to pick up a to go order for my husband and I so we wouldn't miss our flight and we could take it with us. The group we were with were so fun and lively that the time ran over. He was right we all became friends during this tour. This was our first food tour and it sparked a new interest of tours for us. We usually stick with history or ghost tours as not big foodies but this was more than just good sized sample. It was an experience. Thank you so much for your southern kindness.

Great tour, perfect amount of walking and restaurant variety. Tour guide was great. Definitely recommend as an introduction to the Charleston food scene!

Fun and entertaining tour guide with good people skills. By the end of the tour, we were all friends! Good taste selections represented the best of Charleston food culture. Each restaurant’s offering generated enjoyable discussions among the group, which included people from all over the US. Interesting historical facts about the city were appropriately sprinkled throughout the morning.

We stopped at four restaurants, ending with dessert. Each was a very small plate, but the food was very good. The tour guide was OK, but he didn’t really have all of his facts straight.
