Snagov Monastery
The so-called “Dracula’s grave” in Snagov Monastery refers to the alleged burial site of Vlad Țepeș (Vlad the Impaler) — the historical figure who inspired the Dracula legend. What is Snagov Monastery? • Located on a small island in Snagov Lake, about 40 km north of Bucharest. • Built in the late 14th century and reconstructed over the centuries. • Accessed by a footbridge or boat, it’s a serene and historically rich place. ⚰️ Why is it called “Dracula’s Grave”? • Vlad Țepeș ruled Wallachia in the 15th century and was known for his brutal methods of punishing enemies, most infamously by impalement. • Historical accounts suggest he may have been buried at Snagov Monastery after being killed in battle around 1476. • A tombstone was discovered in front of the altar, which many believe marks his grave.
1777 Wine Cellar Museum
The 1777 Wine Museum is a unique cultural attraction located in Valea Călugărească, Prahova County, Romania, nestled within the renowned Dealu Mare wine region. This museum is a faithful reconstruction of a traditional Romanian wine cellar (cramă) dating back to the year 1777, as indicated by the inscription on its portal. ️ Historical Significance The original wooden structure was considered the oldest preserved peasant dwelling in Prahova County until 1985. In that year, it was dismantled to conserve its materials, which were later used to reconstruct the museum at its current location. The project was initiated by the Prahova County Museum of History and Archaeology and was inaugurated on May 18, 2013, coinciding with International Museum Day.

Sebastian was a great tour guide. He was very prompt with pick up and very knowledgeable while driving through Bucharest. The first winery that we stopped at was a great start. It was a family operated and owned winery and the wine was delicious! This is an easy and convenient tour to get out of the city and enjoy some of the country side and villages in Romania. Overall, I highly recommend booking this tour.

First and foremost, I have to say that the trip was absolutely fantastic. The stunning views of the vineyards, the rich history of the wineries we visited, and the knowledgeable guide all made for an unforgettable experience. Our guide took us to same local wineries, where we had the opportunity to learn about the wine making process and indulge our senses with delightful wine tastings. We also had the chance to try some delicious local cuisine accompanying the wine, which was a perfect pairing.

The museum offers guided tours that are informative and engaging, allowing visitors to learn something new with every step. The wine tasting experience takes place in a cellar, the friendly and knowledgeable staff offer a range of different wines, including whites, reds, and rosés, and will help you choose the perfect wine to suit your taste buds. After wine-tasting, you'll want to head over to the nearby Casa Timiș restaurant.
