There’s nothing better than experiencing Dresden’s magical Christmas atmosphere than on our small-group tour (max. 8 people), just a 2-hour drive from Prague!
Visit Germany’s oldest Christmas market, the famous Striezelmarkt, where you’ll have 3 hours of free time to explore festive stalls, shop for unique souvenirs, and enjoy one complimentary cup of traditional Glühwein.
Travel comfortably in our modern minivan with free WiFi, and enjoy a guided walking tour of Dresden’s historic center plus a delicious à la carte lunch. Your English-speaking guide will also lead a walking tour of Dresden’s historic center, showcasing all the main highlights. A delicious à la carte lunch in a local restaurant is included.
On the way to Dresden, we’ll stop in Saxon Switzerland National Park, where you’ll stroll across the iconic Bastei Bridge and admire breathtaking views of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. You’ll also visit the ruins of a 12th-century rock castle along this easy, scenic walk.

Your guide will pick you up at your hotel in Prague in the morning. From that moment on, our mission is to ensure you have everything you need to enjoy the day trip to the fullest. As we drive to the Northern Region (1.5 hrs) in our comfortable, modern van with FREE WiFi. Your guide will share insights about the national park, the Czech and German countryside, and everything you can look forward to during the trip.
Parc National de la Suisse Saxonne
The first stop is the stunning Saxon Switzerland National Park in Germany, famous for its dramatic sandstone formations, deep forested gorges, and breathtaking panoramic viewpoints. Here, you’ll explore the iconic Bastei Bridge area, offering unforgettable views over the Elbe River and the surrounding rock towers. From the start of the tour, free snacks and water will be available for you to enjoy throughout the entire day.

5.00Vladimir was great. Knowledgeable. Flexible with time. Made the experience fun. Just an overall good dude. The Bastei bridge in the sandstone mountains was absolutely stunning. Sonnestein Castle gives a beautiful view of Pirna, a beautiful German village. Lunch there was incredible.....and our walk through Dresden was just jaw dropping. We HIGHLY recommend this trip.

5.00Our guide Jirka was very friendly and accommodating! He’s also a great driver and makes sure everyone in the group is comfortable. The old stone bridge at Bastei is beautiful and not a difficult hike whatsoever. There are a lot of stairs with higher lookouts but you can choose to stay on the lower areas that aren't as much climbing and still have a great view. The main market was really cute and there were clusters of other outdoor vendors scattered within about a 15 minute walking area. There were plenty of food stalls and wares to browse- I enjoyed the Medieval themed market and it reminded me of a Ren Faire! We around walked around Dresden a bit first with Jirka pointing out some significant landmarks and giving us the history of them. Then we had time to shop around alone before heading back. Definitely a great option for a day trip if you are staying in Prague and have some time to bop around!

5.00Jirka was a great guide, informative and caring about his group- always making sure people had water, looking for stragglers- so no one got left behind. Great driver, efficient with keeping on schedule- very personable young man. It was worth being able to go into Dresden for one day and seeing countryside of Saxon Switzerland. Be prepared for long day!

5.00Mirek was the best tour guide ever( !!)taking us to the Dresden Christmas Market, the oldest in the world(!!). It was wonderful and our three young adult children all found unique finds, but what we enjoyed most was Mirek stopping in a small village on the way to Dresden, for lunch and the local Christmas Market in Pirna. I found a lovely German Pyramid there for 15 euros less than the Dresden market. Thank you Mirek for an awesome day for our family of five!!

5.00We had the most amazing day lead by our even greater guide Misu who was so friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour! The whole day was effortlessly run, we could just follow and have the time to take everything in. Lunch was also delicious in a small German town right in the town square with a local Christmas market outside. A good mix of nature, a small and a busy town.
