You will learn the basics of goldsmithing, this includes marking with a scribe and pierce your strip of silver with a jewelers saw. Learn how to form a ring using pliers and a ring mandrel. You will watch it being soldered whilst being explained the process by your teacher. How to file the ring using different size hand files and how to texture the ring using a planishing hammer- if you wish. You will watch it being polished on a polishing motor to your chosen finish – matt or shiny!

Please note we are located in 2 beautiful, old period buildings with plenty of stairs and no access to a lift.

Whether you are interested in learning a new skill or want to create something in a fun and relaxed environment, this workshop is for you. During the class you will learn to make your own sterling silver Claddagh Ring. A Claddagh Ring is a traditional Irish ring in which a heart represents love, the crown stands for loyalty and the two clasped hands symbolize friendship. In the workshop you will begin with a Claddagh Ring strip and you will learn basic goldsmithing skills to transform this into a beautiful, made to measure Claddagh Ring that you will be proud to say you made yourself.

Holy cow, what an experience!! And a cladagh ring to boot, marvelous teachers. Trust in the process says the neon - no kidding. A ring is made at the final step. :)

Totally worth it, and special because you made it yourself. It will serve as wonderful reminder of how fun my trip was and how warm and welcoming the people of Ireland were!

Fun and cool experience. My daughters enjoyed it. My husband and I enjoyed the pub next door since if you wanted to stay you had to pay an observer fee since the studio is small. There are 2 locations and even if you go to where instructed you may have to go to the second location. Give yourself a few extra minutes arrival in case you need to go to the second location.

We did the Claddagh ring workshop with a small group and had the BEST time. Our fearless leader, Luke, was so patient and explained every step of the process. Having a beautiful, customized souvenir of our Ireland trip is so special and fun.

We had a wonderful time crafting our Claddagh rings. The instructors gave clear instructions as to how what we needed to do. The rings will be a cherished keepsake of our trip to Dublin.

A great 2.5 hour experience!! Our rings turned out even better than we expected, which the whole room seemed to agree on. We got to customize them a lot! Some folks paid extra for engraving and we paid extra for gold plating. I also learned SO much about goldsmithing as well as the history of the claddaugh. With this activity being one of the pricier excursions we did, I was really thrilled that it was SO much fun. Definitely worth it. Perfect activity for a couple, small group, or solo traveler (there were 2-3 solo travelers in our group alone!) PS: There are two Silver Works locations (about a 5 min walk from each other) so just double check which!

I came with my mom and we had the best time crafting our own rings from start to finish. Our instructor, Pamela, was the sweetest person, and we loved chatting with other visitors as well as locals taking the class. We left not only with two beautiful Claddagh rings, but also with a wonderful memory and story to go with them. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Dublin (and even locals!).

Brilliant - really interesting to see how the rings are made and very hands-on. The ladies were very clear and reassuring, knowing they don't look great midway through and that's OK, and the rings turned out really well! The only thing I would mention is that the address is wrong on the tickets - it's on George's St, not Drury St. Fantastic experience, really recommended. A ring you've made yourself is very meaningful!
