The Large Onofrio's Fountain is a prominent landmark in Dubrovnik, Croatia, also a meeting point for our food tour. Located at the entrance of Dubrovnik's Old Town, near Pile Gate, this large circular fountain is a remarkable example of the city's historical infrastructure and architectural grandeur. Constructed in 1438 by the renowned Italian engineer Onofrio della Cava, the fountain was part of a complex water supply system that brought water from a well-spring located over 7 miles away. Despite suffering damage from an earthquake in 1667 and the Croatian War of Independence in the 1990s, the fountain has been well-restored and continues to serve as a functional public water source, offering cool refreshment to locals and tourists alike.
Square Poljana R. Boskovica
Ruđer Bošković Square, located in the heart of Dubrovnik's historic Old Town, is named after one of the most famous sons of the city, Ruđer Bošković, a noted physicist, astronomer, mathematician, philosopher, diplomat, poet, theologian, and Jesuit priest of the 18th century. As a public space in the city's UNESCO-listed center, this square embodies the rich history and culture of Dubrovnik. Its prime location amidst narrow, winding streets lined with age-old stone buildings provides a unique charm that is quintessential Dubrovnik.

If you’re visiting Dubrovnik and love food, this tour is an absolute must! From start to finish, everything exceeded expectations. Our guide Ana was incredibly pleasant, knowledgeable, and passionate—not just about the food, but about the history and culture of Dubrovnik as well. Her storytelling added so much depth to each stop and made the experience feel personal and authentic. The food stops were thoughtfully chosen and absolutely amazing. Each location offered something unique and delicious—we learned about traditional Croatian dishes and secret local locations. There was an abundance of food—honestly, too much to finish! Come hungry, because they are not stingy with the portions. And the wine! We sampled a variety of local wines that perfectly complemented each course. It was hard to choose red or white. If you are with a partner I suggest one of each so you can taste them both. It was a wonderful introduction to Croatian wine, and I learned that exporting Croatian wine is rare. To top it all off, the tour ended with 2 scoops of ice cream at Gianni’s, a small place not advertised to tourists. I left full, happy, and with a deeper appreciation for Dubrovnik’s culinary scene. Highly recommended—this tour is a feast for both your stomach and your soul!

Excellent sampling of local dishes. Paired well with wine. Small group supports conversation. Our guide provided an excellent presentation of historical facts during walk between stops.

Great tour. Guide was great, very knowledgeable both in history and food/wine. The restaurants were great and the food was very different at each stop.

Be prepared for a lot of delicious food and lots of interesting info about Dubrovnik. I especially enjoyed learning about the wines- of which we had several- which were delicious. Our tour was from 3-6 PM and neither of us needed dinner after that. Everything went to smoothly, it was clear this tour had been run many times. Highly recommend. What could be better than combining food, wine and a walking tour?

Best tour we booked while on vacation in Croatia! Was a blend of great food, delicious wine, and historical facts led by a fun tour guide! We loved one of the restaurants so much we went back again for dinner the next night.
